Title: Rialto in Tucson
Post by: blucas on Sep 13, 2008, 01:33 AM
a gift from the gods...a late notice tucson date for back to back to back (Pho-Tucson-SD) shows!

Some rialto theatre notes: great ambiance, beer and wine only- no mixed drinks (bummer), brand new supposed ass-kicking sound system (not a bummer)

does anybody know how many the theatre holds?
Title: it holds a whole bunch of cool people

AMAZING VENUE!!!!!!

lucky to whom ever is going. Plus, Tucson has great crowds - so long as they're not frat boy bands...

folks, do NOT MISS Cafe Poca Cosa right up the street if you're going to this show! If you're coming from out of town the garage right above Poca Cosa is THE place 2 park 4 a show @ The Rialto. Poca Cosa does double it's menu price after 4 pm so order by 355. Have the Poca Cosa Plate (NO RICE OR BEANS! trust me it's WAY TOO MUCH FOOD) & the chocolate mouse. CPC is an EPIC OUT OF THIS WORLD tropical mexican food place. The plate, dessert, a house magarita & tip will pit u out $30 but you'll NEVER FORGET IT!

Have seen a couple shows a month on average at the Rialto since it opened 10yrs+ ago. However, haven't been to show since the new (advertised as kick-ass, state-of-art) sound system went in earlier this month. There was really nothing wrong with old system, so a step-up should be special. Definitely concur that Rialto is a GREAT VENUE! Hoping for an enthusiastic capacity crowd.

As for the capacity question: Pretty sure the reserved balcony holds between 250 and 300, with the GA floor accommodating between 1000 and 1100
