Has anyone here stayed at he St Marks Hotel? If so, what did you think? My wife and I have 4 nights booked as we're coming in for the NYE show.

Never been there, but it looks like a decent hotel according to the reviews I just read on it. If you have time, there are some cool little stores and bars along Saint Marks Place.
For some reason I always thought that place was the kind of hotel that you book a room by the hour.
Looking at online reviews, I think I'm wrong.
A few doors down is the Grassroots tavern. Cheap beer and $1 baskets of popcorn. Much more laid-back than the other bars on St Marks. Decent jukebox too when they have the volume turned up.
The Continental around the corner has cheap booze, but the crowd gets kind of annoying in there. They also have a good jukebox and always play the music at a listenable level.
Ummm... total hooker hotel. Sorry to be a downer. They have free porn on the TVs and huge mirrors on the walls.
On the upside, it IS a cool neighborhood and a decent price. Most other hotels for New Years are around $500 a night which is crazy.
