Title: MMJ NYE 2009/2010?
Post by: jones on Jan 15, 2009, 08:57 AM
The show at MSG was a wonderful experience that I will never forget; It may be a little early to think about this, but I'd like to hear your venue predictions for NYE 2009/2010...

lets keep it intimate... 4 nights at the Palace with the NYE show out on 4th street (south 4th, not that 4th street live bs.)

I like the intimate idea...  Getting tickets would be rough, though!

Dear Jim, TTT, Patrick, Bo, and Carl,

You are cordially invited to my parent's beach house for NYE 2009/2010 to celebrate the end of the oughts. It is a small bungalow at the Jersey shore, free from Guidos, and the town is deserted in the Winter, making for the ultimate frozen-beach performance.

Also, there's a Sonic about 20 minutes away. I'll rent you all some casios and one of those portable Fender PA's.

Sincerely,

Choder

I'm down with the Palace run Kory.  Instead of 4th street for NYE (since it will be cold), maybe an intimate show at the Brown just to throw the curve in there.  Maybe they would play same in any language as an ode to the Brown.

I hate to threadjack, but the sonic story is worth telling: NYE 07/08, we drive to AC for the night for cheap thrills and there's a massive traffic pile up on the GSP just south of Forked River. Turns out someone rolled a pickup and was splattered on the highway and whatnot, so the road was closed and we had to detour. The detour, for one reason or another, took us down Rte 9 and lo and behold, under a power plant, there it was - Sonic. The place that advertises here for a decade without a store within 700 miles (it took a trip to bonnaroo to understand the hype).

I grew up down the shore. There's plenty of guido-free zones if you know where to look.

I'll do Tater Tots and a Cherry Limeade, but I concur.

I won't mind if they keep it low-key for 09' as long as they come firing back with a Double Album,  headline Bonnaroo and play a free Central Park show 10'.

I don't think they will play NYE this coming year because they will be preparing to rock the Super Bowl Halftime Show!!
