I'm hoping some of the Australian fans will help fill us in on the setlists as best you can. Many times in the past, the overseas shows don't get reported so I thought I would start a thread ahead of time to encourage our friends on the other side of the big rock to help us out!
First "Dear Wife" ever coming soon? :o
I am seeing them at Billboard the venue and i will do my best. I have only been listening to the band for 6 months so every song isn't lodged into my brain yet...
The other issue is that i won't know any of the anticipated covers.
Sorry if i'm not tmuch help, but aforementioned, i will do my best.
Also, the Big Day Out set is only an hour so i'm sure they keep to just their own songs.

Any help at all will be appreciated! I wouldn't count on any covers. It seems like they only do them at special occasions now.
We'll see how my memory is going.
I don't know why but in recent years my ability to recall the names of songs has diminished, even albums I play heaps like It Still Moves.
When I was 13 I could remember every song title, every lyric, every band member's name of the bands I liked. Kind of a shame good memory space was wasted on Motley Crue and Faster Pussycat!
I'll definitely do my best to help provide a set list for the Billboard's show.
I'm a shocking insomniac, so I'll need something to fill time when I get home from the gig anyway!
anybody taping???? i was looking here http://bigdayout.com/home.php for info about streams or webcasts and had no luck.
I can't always remember everything either. But don't forget, they always have about 3-4 setlists from the stage that they give away. Even if you are not lucky enough to get one, I always try to ask the person who got it to post it online and share the joy!
As far as taping is concerned i am not sure what can happen there. I have no idea how to do it, and if i see somone making a bootleg i will ask them to put it on the website.
At Billboards i have a feelin that they are doing 2hr+ set. I will be trying to get front row (which may not be hard) so i hope i can be lucky enough to score a set list.
Big Day Out won't have any streams guys. But they will have plenty of video footage of MMJ. And that will more than likely hit youtube after airing on TV.
Your set list needs will be covered from Brisbane through to Adelaide!!

bh, thanks for sending up a flare to the folks on the january tour!
I am all up to date with Z, It Still Moves, and Evil Urges. I know all those songs off by heart. I will now listen to At Dawn and Tennessee Fire over and over and over and over...
When ever I go to a show I bring a note book to write down the set list. It's a great way to list the songs, but also remember the show. You can alway tell how messed up I am just by looking at my sloppy writing.
I just put them in my phone.
I create a text message and just list the songs, then after each song, save as draft (so i don't have my phone, a flip, open the whole show), then when add another one i go to the saved draft.

At Dawn. Oh, the first time I heard that album...
Have fun listening. :)

Looking forward to your report WB - have a
great show!!! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
WB, I take it you got in early enuf to score ur bdo tick then?
Am I correct in saying that Australia time is approx. 14-16 hours ahead of us? So for example, tommorow's show, if it was 8pm would happen about 6 am local time?
I need to know when to start begging for setlists. ;)

Even better I will be adamantly demanding where to find a taping before the show even (happened?) ;)
Sorry BH. I'll stop stalking your posts :-[

Well the east coast of Australia is 16 hours ahead of USA east coast. Then Adelaide is 30 mins behind aus east coast, and perth is 3 hours behind aus east coast. But BH, those times are reasonably accurate.

Actually my sister did it for me. She got them when they went on sale at midnight on the BDO site.

I can't help loving that song. I'm guilty about liking any music by any 80s bands. Especially Safety Dance. I know I should hate that one, but I don't. But lets keep that between us.
Can't your hear that thunder?
LOLZ Men At Work
I got my melb Big Day Out ticket now so i can do my part there.

There is no shame in that. I have a soft spot for Tears for Fears.
Setlist for 22/1/2009 is included in my last post (For those interested).
