GREETINGS FROM THE WORLD OF TOMORROW
I love how Australia exists in the future
These short gigs must leave everyone begging for more...what a set!
I wouldn't want to be the one to follow that...unless it's Neil - he can probably handle it.
Has there been any sit ins yet with Neil?
Neil should play with them on Run Thru or Dondante.
Even though it wasn't as long as the Metro show, BDO was still a blast. Not to mention I saw One Big Holiday, Golden, Cowgirl In The Sand and Cortez The Killer in one day. Can't wait for tonight!!!!!
I will post photos in the next few days.
Scored the barrier in front of Jim. Great little set, Touch Me Part 2 is shaping up to become my favorite MMJ song. Just sounds so good live.
Having so much fun and were only 3 shows in...

Awesome spot!
I was barrier infront of Carl for BDO and Metro. Where were you for Metro?
I must have been right behind you at the Metro.
I keep thinking how great it would be to see Australia for the first time while following MMJ along the coast. Although I think they are moving a little too fast for me to see everything! At least I can live vicariously through you guys. Don't be afraid to tell us some stories about your travels! ;)

You must have had a good view of the band then cause I'm really short and so were the people I was with.

How early did you guys have to get to the venue in order to get such good spots? I'm a short arse and would like to actually see the show in Melb, rather than people's shoulder blades the whole night.

Yeah, they had a bit of this jazz track that i've been looking for for absolutely ages but i don't know the name of. I was amazed when it came on, it was good warm up music.
If anyone knows the name of it please PLEASE let me know, i've been looking for AGES!
They were so amazing yesterday though, i'd been looking forward to them all day. They played some of my favourites so that made me super happy. I wish they could've played for longer, i was so captivated by them.
incredible stuff

We got there about an hour before the show.
At BDO, was it easy getting a good spot? I am seeing them in Melbourne tomorrow so i need to know... Tankyou.

"Bird's Lament" by Moondog
We made our way to about halfway to the front for TV On The Radio and once they finished, a lot of people left (I'm assuming because of the gap between TV's and MMJ's sets). So we pretty much walked up to the barrier. I hope it's the same for tomorrow.
Channel V has some pretty good footage up on their website of the following songs from their set:
- Golden (they titled it "Golden Needle" for some reason... but it is Channel V afterall.. sigh)
- One Big Holiday
- I'm Amazed

Also, here's an interview that they did during the first trip to Australia in 2003 - I love the look on Jim's face when the interviewer (named "Jabba", which explains a lot) brought up the whole "alt-country" label - http://www.sendspace.com/file/7dlzm7
