Had I known that there wasn't going to be a tour in what seems like forever I would have road tripped in 08. Hind sight is 20/20 I guess.
Any new news on a Jacket tour?......PLEASE :)

none yet- but check out monsters of folk while you wait!
Yeah, at the risk of being shat upon, bought the CD, didn't really think it was all that great....ok, but not great.

well, I'll definitely disagree with you. I am awful at trying to explain why something is good or bad but I'll just say- keep trying to take in some deep deep listening experiences- you'll notice little things here and there that help build the song into what it is.
Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
well word around the campfire is that after MoF tour, jj will be doing a solo album? just what i herd. ha. assuming that is correct, i would put money on a solo tour of some sort.
i, for one, dont see the point of putting off the beast for MoF or a solo thing. i listened to the cd, its not GREAT its better than most crap out there but not better than AA Bondy's new cd, deertick, delta spirit.
i also wish i would have known that they would not have been playing anymore shows as well. i had tix to go to lville. had to eat them. i want my jacket back. nuff said

Muy guess is that there will be a new MMJ album and tour before a JJ solo album.
word around the campfire is the solo album is about in the can.

Meaning it's almost done, just to be clear.
awesome, anyone got a time machine?
Wasn't it confirmed by management that MMJ will tour in 2010? Pretty sure it was.
I'm gonna go with....
MMJ tour
Yim Solo album
Yim Solo tour
MMJ album
MMJ tour
...in that order.
8-)
im with you ghost. MMJ is now a house hold name and to keep that name and the momentum of Jim's "Master Plan" a tour, even if it is a mini one, is in store.
Bonnaroo 2010 - Late night closing The Which Stage once again.
What about even like a little My Morning Jacket festival - somewhere that is somewhere, a place we can all go, camp, drink, dance, chant, and watch MMJ melt faces for 2 or 3 days. The can also have some of Jim's new friends preform and get their name out...Will Johnson, Ben Sole, who ever that girl was on NYE...maybe some other ATO label mates, Alberta Cross, Ben Kweller, Gomez, Brenden Benson and White Rabbits. You know, just a thought, just a dream ::)
Personally I like to see the solo tour coincide with the MMJ tour. A few solo gigs here, a few MMJ shows there. Maybe a few dates with a JJ day show and an MMJ night show. Or even a few dates where JJ "opens" for MMJ, so to speak.
That would be the best of both worlds, IMO.

if Jim opened for the jacket, that would be awesome, but I wouldn't want the tours to coincide with each other if that wasn't the case. I'd probably be able to swing it, but some people would only have the time or money to only go to one. Having to choose would be cruel. ;D

WHEW!!! :)
i'd like to see JJ do a small Intimate tour, just him....i don't think he needs to open up for MMJ, that's just too much....i fear my soul would explode...

Easier for you 2 to hunt him down then? Possibly girlnapp him? Your secret is safe with me. :P
;D ;D ;D
Seriously though....
To make a comparison, as much as I love it when Ed Vedder opens up a Pearl Jam set with a few acoustic tunes...it was much nicer seeing him doing full sets on the solo tour. Just a different experience. I think with a large crowd it's difficult to get everyone to calm down enough to listen to the acoustic stuff when they're antsy for the Big Show to start.
