MY MORNING JACKET
MADISON SQUARE GARDEN, NEW YORK CITY
DECEMBER 31 / JANUARY 1
The Southern band kicked off the year in style, donning suits and bow ties, covering songs by Curtis Mayfield, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and Kool and the Gang, and ripping through originals like "Off the Record" and "Gideon" with spirited precision. Reported SPIN"s Larry Fitzmaurice: "'Remember how this is -- how it feels to be alive?' frontman Jim James asked the crowd. By the night's closer, the barn burning 'One Big Holiday,' it seemed impossible that anyone in attendance would go into 2009 feeling otherwise."

They aren't numbered, but MMJ are the first one they show.
this concert has been on my mind all year. idk cause they haven't toured by me the whole year or that one of my best photos i've have taken was at this concert but it was a good time i know that.
Is it still appropriate to refer to MMJ as a "southern" band?
And yes that show was epic, my first, glad I made the trip from Toronto.
you popped your Jacket cherry at the Garden on New Year's!
that must have been :D ;D :D ;D :D

Pretty much
I was reminiscing about the show last night...and it is exactly why this year my fiancee and I are just plan to lay low and have low down night instead of celebrating one big holiday. Last year's NYE knocked us over with the force of a mighty steam engine, and we didn't know where to begin to try and plan a NYE that could compare to last years' events. We figured if all else fails we could just go into the woods and celebrate in the dark, but hopefully our masterplan will be the perfect anti-NYE that we need since the vibes from last year still run thru me.
have been reminiscing all month about this show...listening to it over and over...will never forget that show or that nye --COLDEST outisde EVER -- HOTTEST inside ever! Highlight was my hubby high fiving Patrick's Mom during Run Thru!
