M. Ward will be performing on Late Night with Conan O'Brien TONIGHT Thursday, May 17th.
M. Ward will be joined by an impressive band of friends including Neko Case, Kelly Hogan, Jim James, Mike Coykendall, Than Luu, & Adam Selzer to perform Chinese Translation from Post-War.
this was posted by Chills in the other music > M Ward thread. I thought it deserved its own thread in the main forum since Jim's involved.
conan or letterman?
my bad, conan. i'll edit it. i must have thought it was letterman since m's already done chinese translation on conan. maybe chills can clarify or someone's who not at work can do some research.
Thanks 4 the heads up! Awe to the some!!!:)
M. did in fact play Chinese Translation on Letterman. I remember Paul making the flying saucer comment. He also played it on the late late show with Craig Ferguson.
Kick Ass!
It's definately Conan. Thanks for the heads up. This is exciting. I think this deserves an online viewing party. (WoHOO, a reason drink!)
Quotemy bad, letterman. i'll edit it. i must have thought it was letterman since m's already done chinese translation on conan. maybe chills can clarify or someone's who not at work can do some research.
You were right originally, it is Conan, not Letterman.

I was all confused. it's conan. conan. i was thinking it was conan that he was already on but murph is right, letterman was the one that cracked wise about the percussist. and then when i tried to explain that i once again confused the names. damn i can't wait for school to be over! anyway it's conan.
I'm late, but not too late. Thanks for the heads up!
That was excellent! Nice little jam at the end too.
Holy dammit...tried staying up but of course I passed out on the couch. It doesnt help when you have to get up at 530 every day. Hopefully youtube bails me out.
Argh! I missed it :-[
For those who missed it. It was Chinese Translation slowed down just a tad. The first time that M Ward got to the part where he says "then the sun went down...and he sang me this song" Jim sang "song" part solo.
When Jim was singin his little part and then Neko joined in, i'm speechless. I request a full-blown Jim and Neko duet.
Missed it - I'm at work so I can't check - is it up on You tube by chance?
This was awesome. Jim got a whole verse!
I wonder if there was another reason why Jim and Neko were in NY......hmmm.....
Is it just me or did Jim looked like he put on some pounds? Maybe its the haircut?
This was great, thank god I have Tivo.

Now that you mention it....kinda noticed it from the photos right after the haircut. Must be the hair as I was commenting to someone that compared to photos circa ISM, he looks a lot skinner now. Guessing a lot of that had to do with his bout with pneumonia and their love for the road.
