I wanna get this prediction under the wire before the show starts.... I have no basis for this but just a guess..... one of the encore covers will be replaced by another MMJ tune - Dancefloors or Easy Morning Rebel.
My thinking is that they were playing those songs to get sharp for last Saturday, and now that Jazzfest is over it's time to add a little more MMJ-ness.
Of course, this could just be wishful thinking. We'll find out in a few hrs.
Okay, here it goes

Wonderful (TWIF)
Thank You Too
Dondante
Smokin' From Shootin'
Run Thru (the whole thing)
Touch Me Part 2
Encore
Wordless Chorus

Highly Suspiscious
Move On Up
Carnival Time
Dancefloors
(Experience + Wishful Thinking)/jealousy = the above list
As much as I hate to say it, the wishful thinking is probably just that. I think you just need to remove Dancefloors, and you'll about have it. Here's hoping I'm wrong, though, and for more wishful thinking this summer.
EDIT: Also doubting (but hoping for) the whole Run Thru.
Not far off JYY. Did I read the set list correct? They swapped Steam Engine for Dondante? :-?

I don't know whether to celebrate or cry over this... :o

If they play the same set at MPP... I'd be happy :)

Okay, who called it? Steam Engine! Why couldn't it have been at least one of the three shows I saw? And His Masters Voice. That's a surprise. The rest, not so much. And is One Big Holdaway about wrestling?

That might be the worst Encore I've ever seen listed. If St. Auggie was the only one I was going to and I didn't get Dondante, I might just pee in a cup.
Steam Engine is back, y'all. :)
That looks like a really solid set. Can't wait to hear what yvon and the others have to say about it!

Yes, I believe he sings about being a Jerichoholic, and putting someone in a Liontamer... ;D

I'm kinda regretting losing my Friends Again virginity over and over again before I actually get to see it live. ;D :-/ :'(

I was kinda close. Who would have expected so many changes after so few? Might the boys be starting to get sick of the same basic setlist night after night? Will we see more variety as we move towards August, when I can see 'em open for Petty? Let's hope so.
HOLY SHIT. best steam engine ever. they added a jam near the end similar to what they have been doing with dondante. right when the "boar and the moving trees" line came up, i looked right, and the trees outside the amphitheatre were going nuts in the wind. never felt closer to god than at that moment. and his masters voice....WOW. felt so lucky to be there last night. loved every second of it. jim and all the guys were smiling and laughing, looked like they had so much fun.
also - the intro is a sight to behold. it was incredible too. losin' yo head sounds so much tighter and on point in person than on the MOF album. i could go on and on. the only thing to complain about is that you never get to hear every song you want to hear. such a good night. now i'll be taking a final exam in 2 hours.
Awesome set list. Koka Booth is going to rock!
Dondante or Steam Engine... I'd be in heaven to hear either stretched out into a monumental jam session.
... can't wait!!!
;D
First Steam Engine of the tour!!! Yeah Baby!! Wish I was there to see it. I think this may be my favorite set list of the tour so far.
Reading set lists is like peeking at your presents the day before Christmas. It messes with your head. I'm seriously sitting here now trying to figure out whether the odds they'll play Steam Engine at MPP are now HIGHER or LOWER since they just played it. Someone do the math.
It's usually such a rare play that I think it has to make the odds slightly better. Might not make sense, but in my head that's what I'm telling myself.
But a performance without Dondante? That's just not right.

I hear that......I am almost as excited though about Steam Engine, but am so greedy that I pray for BOTH :) Both have been equally profound for me live!!
I, of course, am praying for both on Saturday.
I'm on the fence if I had to pick one, though. I still haven't seen Steam Engine, and I REALLY need to, but I'm going with 2 friends, one of whom I got into MMJ hardcore and this will be his first time seeing them. While Steam Engine in your first show would be really special, conversely a first show without Dondante is like a first slice of wedding cake without frosting.

Too true. My first show was @ Roseland in 2006 and Dondante was the highlight for sure -- it was when I finally got my husband to buy into the "magic" of MMJ. This, while the two morons in front of us in business attire were chatting away!!!!!!
I'd like to hear Steam Engine just because I've never heard it live. But if they played Dondante i wouldn't exactly complain.
Now if they played neither...
QuoteNow if they played neither...
DON'T even JOKE about that. :'(
Solid set. Steam Engine, FINALLY!! But no Dondante and again nothing from Tennessee Fire or At Dawn.
I wouldn't be surprised if Dondante and Steam Engine are two songs they plan on switching in and out of the set with each other. Kind of makes sense in a way.
The fact that they aren't playing a lot from TTF and AD could be that they have relied on that material for a long time and may feel disconnected from it. They have frequently stated in interviews that they don't want to make the same album twice which to me means that they will never be stagnant in their music and there will probably be shows/weeks/months ect where we don't see a lot of the songs they used to play at almost every show. Look at a band like Pearl Jam and how they have changed what and how they play over the years. Over time they have brought back old songs they didn't play for a while and when that happened people were more excited than ever to see them being performed live.
I would love to go to a show a hear tons of TTF and AD but those days could over, at least for now. Then again i didn't think they would play any MoF as a band and I was obviously dead wrong on that. I just can't fuckin wait to rock my ass off at Sasquatch to whatever songs they play!

Well, I am not complaining. At least, they are back out on the road again!!

And, apparently, I was correct.
