Title: Expecting any "MMJ Shenanighans" at Term
Post by: j_rud on Jun 18, 2010, 02:35 PM
We've seen Prom Night, the Oregon Trail, Black Tie Blowouts and Lebowski Fest in costume. With a 5 night residency I just can't help but think there's going to be some of the awesome brand of weirdness that only MMJ (OK, and the Flaming Lips) can bring live. I worry about setting my expectations too high but they've surpassed them every time so far so Im not too concerned. So what do you think it will be? Any special guests? Perhaps the return of the moon boots for Z?

I have really been thinking too much about surprises at these shows.

Would this not be a great time to invite some old friends up on stage to play?  Maybe for the first three nights?

It sure would help with the prep for these shows.

Imagine hearing during Evelyn "Take it away Johnny"..............

Just thinking out loud here!

I think we can expect something...at least by night 5 they'll have some kind of horn section to push through Evil Urges, Highly Sus, Move On Up and beyond.  I can maybe see The Roots (who play everyday in NYC) come out and do Dear God 2.0 with Jim on Sat night <---would be a great way to close it out.

***I want a Bo DJ set Monday night before the show.

three guitar attack with special guest Johnny Quaid.  zero chance but would be pretty cool.  makes me think of jim kidding around with john leckie in the EPK from Z after carl finishes some guitar riffs on "anytime" where jim says, "i think we need more guitar."

Awesome, I didn't catch that. Much less frequent visitor than I used to be.
