Title: Louisville Show Hotel Tip
Post by: jones on Aug 16, 2010, 02:32 PM
FYI:

I just got a room at The Brown for $99 plus fees on Hotwire.  This is a pretty good deal considering that rooms start at $209 plus fees on The Brown's website.  It is a Four Diamond AAA hotel and is pretty swanky if you like to roll like that every once and a while...

What did you do to get The Brown since Hotwire doesn't always show the name of the hotel?

Thanks for any assistance.

Hotwire will not show the actual name of the hotel until you make the purchase.  Considering that it is a 4 1/2 star downtown hotel (according to Hotwire's grading) that would only leave The Brown or Seelbach as "luxury hotels" in that area(am I right Louisville hometowners?).  You really can't go wrong for less than $120 including tax and a night in a luxury hotel, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info, Fly.  I just checked Hotwire and the deal you referred to is now gone.  Looks like you may have got the last one at that price.

I might try Priceline, although Expedia has a pretty good airfare & hotel deal at The Brown.  I think 3 nights at The Brown ended up being about $350.

Also, now when I click on the Hotwire link that I put up it tells me that the session has timed out, but it may just be recognizing my IP.  You may have to go to the Hotwire homepage and search it manually.

Try searching on Hotwire for Louisville 10/29 manually instead of using my link.  The rooms are still there, but it's gone up to $103 from $99 plus tax.  I guess that it automatically goes up with a certain amount of hits...

That explains it.  I was looking at dates from 10/28 to 10/31.  My wife and I were thinking of arriving on Thursday night since most flights wouldn't arrive until 3:30 or 4:00 on Friday, the day of the show.
