So just got back from the san diego show and I am pretty sure the encore included a new song. it also included Wordless Chorus, Steam Engine into OBH to end it. Can't remember most of the set but opened with Tonight Celebrate. Very amazing show.... I took a bunch of photos and will post full HD quality of the new song tomorrow. I have to convert it but ill put it up on youtube ASAP.
Yes, I thought it was a new song. Anyhow, it was a GREAT new song. I can't wait to hear it again.
Setlist, from memory, and prob way out of order:
Celebrate tonight
Golden
Masterplan
Gideon
Off The Record
Touch me 1
Dondante
O is the one
Smokin from Shootin
I'm Amazed
Highly Suspicious
Mahgeetah
lowdown
Evil Urges
End of Run Thru
From Nashville
Touch me 2
Wordless Chorus
new Song
Steam Engine
One Big Holiday
And the others mentioned above. Definitely some I'm missing, it was a 2 hour 20 minute show
O Is The One and Masterplan? :o
And a new song? Describe it?
that setlist is epic. now i'm even more pumped for my august shows.
edit: check the news page for the setlist tweet
Great setlist, hope they come to Europe soon. This new song is not "Friends again" we are talking about in another thread ?
QuoteO Is The One and Masterplan? :o
And a new song? Describe it?
Yeah right! Plus IWSYS. Kinda makes me wish I was going to at least one of the summer tour shows.
Definitely looking forward to Circuital. I like the name.
Also N2K. Does anyone know if they played They Ran? Aww man, that would have been awesome!
looks like a killer set list, i hope they keep it up.
sounds like it was quite the good time on the west coast!!!
looking forward to when the boys bring it back east.
Will have to try to find a recording of the show but it sounds great.
A simple question - how long was the show?
O's the one and Masterplan?!!! YES!!!!
Nice. Looks like the boys are warming up for October. :D
So, did they play They Ran and tell us about Circuital :)

wow. great setlist indeed. Even for those who are unhappy they are missing the 5 night NYC extravaganza, I think the fact of it's existence will benefit anyone who goes to any show over the next couple months.
Great to see some changes. New song, old songs, "fan favorites". Bodes well for the next few months. Can't wait to hear Circuital. And I'm impressed that Kyle posted above without asking about a poster. ;)
Anyhow, I noticed a couple problems with the image (right before I left for work). There was no second encore - so no 'They Ran', and I'm 99% sure they didn't play 'What a Wonderful Man'. I also don't remember 'Lowdown' being played.
Anyone know what 'Wonderful' is? Listed after Nashville to Kentucky - sounded like an older song but I didn't recognize it.
To answer a question, the concert was about 2 hours, 20 minutes long.
These guys sounded so tight last night. SDSU is the best kept secret, such a small venue and great energy. They were all smiles and Jim took a nice minute to give a gratitude bow and smile various times, clearly still bewildered after all these years. So nice! Great to see everyone quietly take in the new song, sounded amazing great tease of anticipation for the new album. Looking forward to the Greek tonight. Crazy to have just seen Yim at Newport blow my mind and then this Jim do the same. They must be twins...
Damn, that setlist is hot. I just jizzed my pants. I was thinking they would mix up the sets more since theyre probably practicing the catalog for NYC. Maybe I was right about that.
Anyone know if this show was taped? I'd love to hear the new tune.
QuoteAnyone know if this show was taped? I'd love to hear the new tune.
There are some decent clips on youtube already, but no new song as of yet.
The new song was really good but I must say the highlight for me was seeing Masterplan live. Now, that song is hot!
Great show, good crowd. Yowza!
So can anyone provide a summary of the new song "Circuital"? Heavy/soft/rocky/funky...?
They did not play They Ran, What A Wonderful Man, or Anytime or I Will Sing You Songs.....though I suppose each city will get a variety as they practice for NY.
The new song (?) was awesome. Jim on acoustic starting by himself (with a sprinkle of Bo). Sounded laid back and rolling right along.....and then Carl, Patrick and Tommy burst in and exploded the whole thing!!! Carl thrashed for a bit, then it settled into another few verses.....man, i can't describe it! It felt like a five or six minute song. the lyrics were very interesting too. If it truly was a new song (for a new record), it's a pretty cool direction.
Anyway, I'm sure someone else could describe better and I know there were some tapers there......
ooooh, I like the sound of this!!!!
Quoteooooh, I like the sound of this!!!!
I should have mentioned there was more thrashing than just the one time....in fact, there was a bit of a breakdown where you thought the song might be over, and then came a few more verses!!!!

Yup, heard this happen "after" Gideon and Off The Record for the first time ever.
I will be uploading the full new song in HD video later today.... stay tuned to this page

This sounds like what we've been waiting for. Acoustic intro, epic, thrashing, "just when you thought it was safe" ending... Me likes!
Dondante was the highlight for me. More epic than I have ever heard it before.
the "new" dondante takes an unbelievable song and makes it more unbelievabler

That would be just lovely!!

Oh man, amazing setlist. I hope we get O Is The One in LA tonight, still haven't seen it live (besides Okonokos). Steam Engine and Materplan too! And a new Dondonte! Those are 4 of my favorite MMJ songs. I Can't wait! :D
QuoteAnd I'm impressed that Kyle posted above without asking about a poster. ;)
So . . . was there a poster? ;)
Now, I can't wait for the Philly show!! ;D ;D
Wow, thanks for the video. They really have the whole band involved in TIWTCWY now and Off The Record is a monster that just keeps growing stronger, the smoke and lights :o

Great song, nice job on the recording! :)
Thank you everyone for uploading your videos.
The new song is pretty good. Not many bands could pull off having a song laced with country undertones yet ebbs and flows like a rock song. Nice!
Cool song...doesnt sound quite like any other song theyve wrote either. Cant wait to hear a studio version where I can understand more of the lyrics.
This has me even more excited for the next album

I downloaded the vid with RealPlayer as a FLV file you can download here:

I converted it to AVI, but the file size grows to almost 2 GB, so I didn't bother to upload it.
I am absolutely in love with this tune! Awesome.
these sets are ridiculous yo. lovin these sets far more than their spring run.
at first i was questionable, but this song is growing on me. its pretty awesome.
I'll post a link to the poster pic for you guys.

Thanks to mmj for a magical ride on Wednesday night at the OAT. Great setlist, great vibe, great sound, incredible new song...now I am sitting at home trying to figure out how and where to go see them one more time before they hunker down in the studio...
I just had to add to what everyone has been saying - this show was definitely amazing! I drove over to San Diego from Phoenix and I definitely was not disappointed. I also went to the Greek, and of the 2 shows, I do have to say that San Diego had a slight edge. I think it was the fact that they played for 3 hours, and they just seemed to be having a great time. Overall, 2 excellent shows...I'm so glad I made the trip!
from these posts and my google searching, does not seem to be a poster for this show. If someone can prove me wrong, I'd love to know.
There was a poster - I got one! I don't have a picture of it but I can upload it later when I'm at home. It's pretty cool :)
