Not to bring it up too early but i am trying to plan the rest of my fiscal year and was wondering if the boys had plans for NYE yet? Anyone heard anything?
i would sure hope so! NYE shows are always where MMJ shines, and after a great touring season, I don't see why they wouldn't throw in one last hoorah for us fans. I guessing we'll see MMJ play a NYE gig in Chicago....
anywhere east coast would be amazing. im trying to decide between a few terminal 5 shows, voodoo on halloween, or holding out for NYE. they definitely bring it on NYE. Careless Whisper reunion?

Man, here's hoping...
every other year seems to be the thing. I would like to keep my streak alive. Hopefully they alternate coasts too.....bring it on back to the Fillmore, that shit was epic!
yeah, seems like west coast would only be fair (much to my disappointment)
what about someplace weird...like...Sante Fe.
I would love for them to do this at the Fillmore again but would love them to do it in Austin Texas even more so I wouldn't have to travel. I don't think MSG is a option, I have heard rumors of a few other bands playing MSG on NYE.
They've already done MSG... the next logical place would be the moon.

Phish has MSG locked down for NYE.
Fillmore! Fillmore! Fillmore! (realistically don't think this would happen, to small for them at this point, pipe dreamin)
I think there a lot of options out there...Chicago, Boston, Miami, my living room...

Chicago would be ideal for me, but I would love for an excuse to go back to Austin. Went for the first time at the end of February. Such a cool place
what about somewhere whacky like... i dont know... another louisville show. i mean who wouldnt wanna spend NYE with their family and friend at home... but anywhere within 10 hours of louisville is cool with me too...
i just hope its announced sooner if it happens so i can save up for plane ticket if i have to

hell i would pay to listen to jim sing in the shower
I don't really want them to play some where like Louisville because there wouldn't be much going on after the concert. Ideally Chicago, San Fran, LA or NYC would be best for me.
I wonder what size room they would choose to play. Hopefully not another arena but NYE is a big night and it may require a big room. At this point I just really hope it happens.

I agree on all fronts, other than LA. LA absolutely blows, and the post show night life would totally suck, the place is just too spread out and the people are all dicks. No offense to any LA-LA-landers, but that would be awful. I'd say sub in Las Vegas for L.A., and any of those places would be fun as hell. But seriously...bring it back to SF/Bay Area!!

sounds like someone never saw a thanksgiving holiday show in the ville. talk about bringing it.
louisville is a fun town. easier to navigate than a bigger city and plenty to do, especially on a night like NYE. god what i would do to get them to play a hometown NYE show.

No need to get defensive and don't get me wrong Louisville is a great city. I grew up in Cincinnati and used to go down there a lot. But I really don't think the options of things going on in Louisville on NYE can compare to that of a big city. What time do bars close in Louisville 2am? In most of the Cities I listed you could go see MMJ and then go to a killer after show that might go until 5am.

.... or 10AM if it's NYC... ;D
not being defensive, just letting it out that when you combine hometown with NYE it very well could be the greatest MMJ show ever. you may be too whipped to do anything after the show anyway.
bars close at 4 and i know of no other city that bars close later unless they do not close.
New Orleans would be dope. If I have to fly anywhere to see them, that would be my top choice.
At this point, though, let's just hope and pray they play on the best concert night of the year...
New Orleans would be a great choice. I am always up for a trip to NOLA.
QuoteNew Orleans would be a great choice. I am always up for a trip to NOLA.
New Orleans is my vote. Even though we will have had 3 shows by the end of October this year, I don't think there's anything wrong with quadruple dipping!
UNO lakefront arena isn't booked yet for a New Year's event...just sayin' ;)
New Orleans would be an interesting choice, especially considering their involvement in that city of late.
literally any city would tight. NOLA would be sick but I dont see it happening because they've played there so many times this year. My ultimate votes go for Home, Chicago, NOLA, anywhere else after that. Hell even somewhere awkward like Nashville. No matter where it is, it will sell out.
i don't think they're playing a show on NYE. (?)
Quotei don't think they're playing a show on NYE. (?)
I remember some one talking to one of the boys after a show, and they said there is no NYE show... :'(

That's what Bo told us after the Philly show the other night. :( He said something to the effect of "as of now there's no plans for one.I don't think there's going to be one this year".
He then said they'd be taking a break, and working on the new album. So at least there's that to look forward to in 2011.
Patrick's wife pretty much told us the same thing a little earlier that night.

Talked to Tom after the Holyoke show and he too says no NYE show (nicest guy ever). And I can only see Phish at MSG so many times... wait that's probably not true
