what with Jasper on the way, I'm all obsessed over what kind of year 2005 is going to be...

with that, I've been pondering what 1968 was like. (yes kiddies, i'm that old)

-DNC in Chicago
-Vietnam War
-Andy Warhol got shot-on my birthday!

and so on.  what was your birth year like?

I was born in 1979. Unfortunately, I was not able to remember that year (because I was a real bad teether).
Thankfully, the Smashing Pumpkins made a video about the year "1979"--back in the "early" days of MTV.  Apparently kids would steal cars and drive into gas stations and drink alot gas station food and slurpees.  While the song itself was "satisfactory", I was very thankful that the band could sum up the entire year in one, three-minute video.

I think that Blondie was on top of the universe in 1979...at least in urban areas that is.

Don't I wish.  But, since I was 11 and hardly knew what Blondie had to offer, I guess I'd be squandering what others would savor!
