my brother use to have this girlfriend that lived in a section of toronto called forest hill. its like the richest neighborhood in toronto. anyway we were over there one day and the kids were fuckin around with her families garbarage cans, tryin to use them for road hockey or something. my brother is freaking out on these kids, and Geddy Lee comes marching down the street and lays into my brother. turned out they were his kids. words were exchanged, and then my brother said he was about to kick his ass, so geddy left. it was pretty funny.

I love Rush too--especially like Exit, Stage Left (older) and Test for Echo (newer)

will do.  each time i saw them live, they were AMAZING.  the last time i saw them on the "hold your fire" tour was the most impressive.

like fine wine, i think they get better as they get older (playing live, that is...not so sure about their studio output of late, just MHO)

neil peart is one of the most talented folks on earth.  not only is he one of the greatest rock drummers, he's also one of the greatest lyricists.  kind of a rare combo, eh?

neil is an interesting individual--unbelievable drummer!  they are one of the tightest combos I've ever seen play live and the sound is always impeccable too.

Very true about Peart....he writes all the words of the songs.  Quite unusual for a drummer.

2112...thoughts on this record as well?  kick ass, or just pompous?

"we are the priests of the temple of syrinx..."  kinda self indulgent (but still good  ;))

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
Our great computers fill the hallowed halls.
We are the Priests, of the Temples of Syrinx
All the gifts of life are held within our walls.

hmmmmmmmm
