Title: childhood nicknames?
Post by: peanut butter puddin surprise on Sep 12, 2005, 01:31 PM
what were some of the more pleasant nicknames you had as a kid?  i'm trying to ascertain what would be a good one for amelia, once she understands that kind of thing...

short list:

Ark.  or Arc.  I went by this for like 4 years.

Gizmo.  That fab summer of '81....

and as you can imagine, since I had "ay" in my last name, I had every thing that rhymes with "ay" as a nickname as well.

go ahead, call me "conagay", i'm used to it!

I had a few bad nicknames when I was a kid.  The most well-known was medusa. ;)

But my Dad called me megalinipoppalini.  And, actually, still does.  Although, I can't remember why...

My best friend used to call me mahaloonie.  (a combination of my initials and the fact that I could put a loonie in my nose.)

Chad has always called me Mahgeetah (even before I knew that song).  I like that.  :)

megawatt.  I liked that one, too.

I am a BIG fan of pet names.  I have nicknames for almost everybody.

Tree for a while back at school (because of my height + after Tree Rollins from the Sonics)

I also remember being called Piles for a while after Full Metal Jacket came out (Miles is my surname)

My Japanese friends used to call me dragonboy when I first got here. (I have a thing for Chinese/Japanese dragons, my name in Japanese is pronounced An Do Ryu - Ryu means dragon!)

Now it's just stuff like wanker ;)
