I go to the gym regularly, so I consider myself in good shape. This weekend though, I caught a rude awakening
I was involved in a 4 on 4 flag football game which lasted for 2 1/2 hours. Hardcore, leave it all on the field type competition. Folks, I can't move. Its agony for me to put on socks and shoes in the morning, to get in and out of my car, and to do the simplest things. My groin, my leg muscles, and my abs hurt. When I sneeze, I groan in agony.
And I thought I was in shape :(
Love,
HorkoLad

HorkoLad, you should pick up some epsom salts on your way home from work and have an epsom salt bath. That'll get some of the lactic acid out of your muscles.

What you really need to do is drink lots of water and lemon. It uh...helps sore muscles and um...increases motabolism...or it may just help with digesting food. Just try it though. :P

Jeff, i'm not a flag football expert by any means..but i'm helping with the defense of a team with high schoolers..it's 8 ppl on the field...you can't block using your hands, it's basically no contact at all...i'm not worried about our secondary at all, myself and another guy can hold our own with whatever receivers we face..but what's the best strategy for blitzing and positioning the linebackers?

I firmly believe with "no contact" a zone blitz would be the best way to blitz the QB while still providing coverage. If you go man, the QB can throw a jump ball towards his most athletic receiver...and chances are, the defender will get burned. If you rush the QB and drop back into a zone coverage (either a left, middle, and right zone)...or a (short, middle, deep zone)...you'll be forcing him to throw faster to an area that is covered...i like zone blitzing better than man blitzing because if the QB escapes the blitz, you aren't 54 yards downfield on your receivers...you're all "at home" in your respective zones..thats how we ran it last weekend

i'm not worried about getting burned deep, not this year at least..we talked about blitzing one heavy, having one kinda contain blitz..and keeping the linebackers in zone..and our free safety in kinda of a middle zone area where if the corners need help he can drop back quick enough, but can also play a middle zone to spy on the qb if he happens to get past the blitzers and linebackers, or pick up any of the blockers coming off the line
