that's the spirit! i tricked myself into going, too. i had no real intention of going and then thought there wasn't much harm in pricing flights. when i saw round trip was only about a hundred bucks that turned into a pretty easy call to make.

been looking at tickets, did the pit sell out or is there not really a pit for this venue? just says VIP tickets are premium first 15 rows? anyone know?

I am also stoked to be going to the first and last shows (Chicago) of this tour. It will be great to see them shake off the rust in Charlotte (and potentially get the first WF2 songs) and then just be on fire by Chicago.

There is a small pit. It was sold out by the time I logged in shortly after they went on sale. They tend to release 2nd batches to this venue so keep checking back. I don't know about VIP.

Sounds good, appreciate it!
I bought the VIP "Love & Sound" and they are GA Pit tickets. I didn't see the pit available outside the VIP package. I just checked and VIP Pit is still available.

I was looking at pictures on google and it does look to be a pretty small amphitheater, so have you been before? are Lawn seats still good at this venue?

I have seen them almost everytime they have played here. I have been lawn at all of them. Venue is fine not great. Just get in a little early to get front of lawn. The downside is there is a walkway between lawn and seats with a constant flow of people.
I would probably do seats instead of lawn, but I can never get a group to buy tickets all at once so we always did lawn.
I got my first pit ticket this time. Excited to see from another point of view.

I like the size of the venue a lot. My complaints would be sometimes the lawn can be over sold and the path between the lawn and seats. I actually tend to setup towards the back half of the lawn and have a much more relaxed time. Even at the far back of the lawn, you will be close enough to get a good experience.
I'm also more of a lawn type in general and will post up in a place a little out of the action with good sound and sight lines even at indoor shows so take my opinion for what it's worth.

So psyched for this show!
13 days and we'll be rocking the start of the tour.
See you guys on Friday! Where's the MMJ pre-party and after-party?
Cannot believe this is the day after tomorrow!!!! Woot!!!!!
here's hoping they'll dust off lovin cup (or any of their other stones' covers) to pay tribute to charlie.

Thought about that today as well, would love Lovin Cup, Gimme Shelter they would CRUSH, or of course a little Beast of Burden :)
I basically traded the Charlotte show for Bonnaroo and im already regretting it to some degree. The first jacket show vibes are going to be off the chain. Soak in those smiles, boys. This is a rare thing.
The day is coming, the day is near!
Have a great time for those of you going, can't wait to see this set list. This show should be epic, emotional, and fun!
If I could pick one show from this tour to go to that I'm not already going to Charlotte would be it. We would gladly pay $$$ to stream it but alas that does not appear to be an option. For those who are going enjoy the show!!!

Totally agree and I'm hitting, Bonnaroo, 3 Chicago, Birmingham and OBH. Maybe because it's the first one back and it's also going to break my streak of 7 straight shows from OBH, to RR, to the Capitol and lastly Forrest Hills.
May be blasphemous, but I'd pick it over NYE.
The Day is here.
be sure the guys feel the love tonight, it's especially important because now we know how close we were to never hearing new music or seeing them together again really was.
Just touched down in Charlotte from Dallas. I'm so pumped to see what happens tonight!

opener at 7:15 so I would guess 8:30. I like to call the box office to find out, they usually know
Called the box office. They said subject to change, Flock of Dimes at 7:00, MMJ at 8:30.
Any place near the venue good for a meet up or beer or chow?
Jealous of y'all! I gotta wait another month.

Really really hope we get Run It tonight but now I'm nervous lol
Anyone know if the show is being streamed live anywhere tonight? Can't find anything.

A truly historic show!!
SEVEN live debuts and the remainder of the set was all killer. Love Lay Low in the encore spot!!
Wasted is as epic as I had hoped and Climbing the Ladder has a great sexy funky groove that is particularly unique.

So any videos of Lucky to be Alive or Wasted?
Also I am so fucking glad they are embracing the WF2 songs on this tour. I hope to one day see Wasted or Feel You on tour.
Well that was an incredible night of rocknroll! They absolutely crushed it.
RSP was great opener and enjoyed it hearing it live, definitely knew it was going to be the opener once they released it this week so no surprise but enjoyed it
Feel You was VERY good, don't get me wrong but Run It was even more fantastic live I think since the whole crowd could sing along
Lucky To Be Alive was, I thought, a bit cheesy to begin, but all of the sudden it turned into one of the most absolute heaters I've ever heard/seen the boys play
Another amazing Dondante, unlike any I've heard, and Jim was singing the lyrics to Where to Begin in it which was hard for me to determine at first but I was shocked when I realized it. Never thought I'd see them perform it live and although it wasn't a proper version of it, it was meaningful to hear
Wasted was of course the huge banger we all knew it would be, will be a treat to see at any show!
Getting Lay Low in the encore seemed like just the whip cream, cherries, fudge, etc on top of an already great night, I thought to myself "geez guys y'all didn't have to do THIS too!"
I apologize, I'm not a great writer but just wanted to share a few thoughts, I believe that was my 16th jacket show and it will for sure hold a special spot in my favorites
Quote from: ericm on Aug 28, 2021, 02:03 PMReally fun show last night and a great kick off to the tour.
Enjoyed the tour debuts and just when I thought I'd seen it all, we get that great Dondante with the Where To Begin snippet. So very cool and here's hoping it shows up again somewhere.
So good to see so many familiar faces in the crowd last night and catch up as it's been far too long. Also cool to meet some new ones and put faces to the screen names. Looking forward to seeing you all again down the road and til then, enjoy your shows.
Thanks jsnl for these great videos!
If anyone has an extra backpack they aren't wanting if be interested in buying one
the Tapings section getting hungry for these shows...i am sure there were some tapers right?
There was at least one setup at the front of the lawn just behind the sound board. Hopefully it pops up sooner rather than later.
I'm enjoying the videos that up on the 'Tube from "jsnl"
i kinda thought the Wasted guitar parts were reversed when I listened to the album but shows what kind of "ear" I have for it
Quote from: parkervb on Aug 30, 2021, 12:06 PMi kinda thought the Wasted guitar parts were reversed when I listened to the album but shows what kind of "ear" I have for it
I also thought it was Jim then Carl, and then Jim again in the slow down. It was a cool surprise to see it's the other way around. In our defense, the album version has their guitars panned to the opposite sides of their stage set up.

that was a badass revelation! i thought it was Jim second but cool to confirm. Also, he's been rocking that white Stratocaster more...interesting, thin steely sound, much like the one on "Anytime" or "Smoking From Shootin" or the original "Lay Low".
What an unreal show to open the tour, a 2 hour 45 minute banger....who thought they were goin soft???
So there's already a recording on Archive of MPP last night but still no recording of Charlotte, i'm gutted. I saw at least 1 taper at Charlotte set up....this is tragic if this never comes out

Charlotte is still best show of the tour thus far. Longest, too;
I hope the band do 3 hours at Forest Hills, I bought my ticket to watch
