Someone on Reddit had a post about "what other bands do you listen to besides MMJ." So I had some time in my hands so I started checking out some of the bands being mentioned, some were not my cup of tea, others were fine but not exactly what I was looking for, but one band, Night Moves, has become my go to for the last couple of weeks and the more I listen the more it sinks in. Recommend listening to song called Headlights on their debut album Colored Emotions and the EP released recently "The Redaction" is a treat.
