Wow! That's pretty awesome.
Fantastic week, first time in Louisville. You locals have yourselves a very cool town, really enjoyed it.

Still can't believe they didn't do Nashville to Kentucky.  Tonight I Wanna Celebrate was another.  Stellar setlists though, thought N5 was tied with N3 for best shows.  N5 energy was off the charts all night.

It doesn't have to be one or the other. I'm be fine with both, and will be in L'Ville for the next run no doubt. Bummed to have missed this one but I just couldn't work out the timing.

One of the great things about the Allman's runs were it was always in March. No speculating about would they do it or when. I met so many people over the years who took some vacation time, or did a few weekends in March type of thing.

They would plan early for flights and places to stay, and it didn't matter which ones, you knew you'd get shows. That whole area on the Upper  East side was an Allmans cottage industry for the month. Such a fun time no matter when or how many shows you did, and it worked for so many because it wasn't a hit or miss small run.

They were the first band I knew who did a residency and they were ahead of their time with that. I would love to see our guys do something like that every year, whatever month and however many shows. Eight over two weeks would be a great start with a chance to add more.

Great idea.  I hope they do something like this one day too.

Steely Dan started doing a Beacon Residency as well and their's was usually in October and not as long. At first I think it's was something like 2 three night runs on consecutive weeks but evolved into more after a couple of years.

They  had some interesting concepts though on how they did each year. They would usually do three whole album nights plus other songs each night and they announced in advance what album would be done on which night. Pretty cool as it gave fans the chance to see their favorite or get a song they had been chasing.

Then the other nights were usually a Greatest Hits night, and they did  an internet request night. If you chose that night, they'd send a follow up email with around 25-30 songs, and each person got to pick 20, with the band saying they would play the 20-22 most requested.

I was fortunate to be only about 90 easy minutes away from NYC and over the years got to see my favorite five albums, the internet night and a greatest hits night. Plus I did  Aja and The Royal Scam twice over the years.

Sorry if this hijacked the thread a bit and don't want to take anything away from what I know was an incredible L'Ville run. It was just something I've been thinking about and would love to see our guys do. Hell,I'd love if they did it in L'Ville as well, and was something we could count on say every April.

Quote from: LBSUNFLWR on Apr 30, 2025, 07:28 AMI've been hoping for Rollin' Back live for years. Part of the reason I had to go all five nights was for the chance to hear Rollin' Back, so it was the obvious highlight for me!!

AEIOU and I Will Be There When You Die were my other best moments.

Still so many songs available for tonight. Hoping to hear Master Plan, At Dawn and Phone Went West tonight.

Wishing for Just One Thing and Where To Begin. ❤️

It also took me forever to hear Rollin Back.  I knew it was guaranteed at an It Still Moves show, but I heard it before that in Chicago at a regular show.  I was pleasantly surprised!

I thought some might also find it cool that they played Squid Ink between the opening band and Pearl Jam hitting the stage in Florida both nights.

4th of July would be nice. I'd always welcome more Carl.

For sure like 85% full. Top rows of upstairs empty and that's it

Quote from: slappymoe on Apr 07, 2025, 03:37 PMtuesday and wednesday shows are not selling as well as one might expect.  they've even closed off the upper balcony.
as of now i'm comfortable with just 3 shows, but the thought of a couple of weeknight shows at a half-filled palace intrigues me.....
getting home around midnight and having the alarm go off at 3:50 for work kinda sucks, but i'm glad i pulled the trigger on nights 4 and 5.  doesn't look like either night will sell out, but tuesday certainly wasn't just "half-filled".  good crowd, if a bit more subdued.

i need 4th of July tonight. and sooner. and a beatles or who cover. and i need them to start at 8:45 and finish at 11. 2 openers and starting around 9:30 is no good for weeknight shows.
