The Band / Re: Patrick talks with LEO abo...

Interesting interview.  I thought the talk about having to move OBH because "there were a bunch of festivals that couldn't happen on the site that we normally do OBH" was interesting.  I wonder what's going down at Hard Rock RM?  There are no festivals planned there next year.

The Shows / Re: Obh 2025

I'm pretty pumped to see Devon and Karina on the bill, and can't beat Preservation Hall getting back in on the action. Got a few new bands to check out too.

They didn't have any guests join them on stage at this year's OBH, but I hope that changes for next year!
If Jim and Devon team up for another Only Memories Remain like they did in Chicago last year, I'll be so happy; it was beautiful to witness and I appreciate the song so much more now. Tom and Karina on another Run Thru collab would also be fantastic to see live.

April 2025 can't get here fast enough!

Quote from: strangulation on Oct 02, 2024, 03:59 PMI remember hearing a recording Dancefloors where after the pause towards the very end of the song, they kept playing in half time for a minute or so.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.
They do that every show since they started doing Dancefloors full justice it deserved and playing it longer live and usually as an encore or show closer.
Look up any 2023 or 2024 show and they do that. Even 2022.

No, I'm referencing when, after they pause very briefly in the last like 10 seconds of the song, they keep playing the final chords in half time instead of the kind of crashing, chaotic outro.

Last post by akula - Oct 21, 2024, 11:16 AM
Hi, new member here. I joined so I could answer this. I'm also pretty new at the guitar, but I think this sounds right.

Standard tuning

Intro plucking
D: ------------4-3--
A: --4-1---2-----4
E: 2-----4--------

Chords:
2---1---4---6
4---2---4---7
3---3---4---8
4---3---6---8
2---1---6---6
x---x---4---x

2---1---4---9
4---2---4---9
3---3---4---10
4---3---6---11
2---1---6---11
x---x---4---x

This is my first attempt at a tab; hopefully my ears led me the right way!

I don't think the message is wanting us all to think and act the same, more to try and get along better despite any political differences.

I don't believe in left/right/woke, all I see is masses being divided. I'm definitely someone who could be described as left/woke/whatever but I have friends & family all over the political spectrum. I love them despite our differences, I find common ground with them still. I think that's what Jim writes about, but maybe I'm wrong.

All things considered - the song is just okay. Hopefully it's just a stand alone thing and doesn't represent the overall sound of the album. Musically speaking it just doesn't sound like a jacket song. Sorry guys!

And for the record - Love Love Love is a great song that SLAPS live! The breakdown during the Albany performance last year is top tier Jacket! Thank god this band continuously tries to break new ground instead of trying to recapture what they were doing 20 years ago. Shake it up, Boyz!
