The Tapings / Re: End of Dancefloors in half...
Last post by Lonndown27 - Oct 04, 2024, 12:00 AM
Quote from: strangulation on Oct 02, 2024, 03:59 PMI remember hearing a recording Dancefloors where after the pause towards the very end of the song, they kept playing in half time for a minute or so.

If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be much obliged.
They do that every show since they started doing Dancefloors full justice it deserved and playing it longer live and usually as an encore or show closer.
Look up any 2023 or 2024 show and they do that. Even 2022.

Love this discussion, honesty not found or tolerated on the Facebook group.

I've been saying this for a long time.
Eternally Even was great.
His WHATS GOIN ON.
But now, The whole thing is becoming a fuckin parody.
Love Love Love is terrible.
Jim doing Michael Jackson isms vocally.
In color seemed a banger at first but all this stuff about I WISH WE WOULD ALL AGREE. Why? It's disturbing that humanity should all be some communist state of everything fair and equal and exact and inclusive when there's some people who are too toxic to include, some stuff that's too bonkers or over the line to accept, or how much money is anyone willing to give up and fork over for the better good of humanity?
It's all stuff that is an easy out for songwriting as someone said earlier, and some of the ways people put forth their views on these political songs was spot on.
I'll follow the band wherever they go, but I'm a little disturbed by the fact they're telling us how to vote.
I wonder how Jim would feel about Trump supporting fans of his...
I really desperately hope they avoid politics completely and really bring it back home.
Jim used to tell weird, scrambled poetic stories that barely made much sense but felt like an inside joke or secret you couldn't quite get in on, and that has been lost...replaced by Lennon-esque platitudes & preaching.
Whatever they do, just bring the songs. I'm so saddened by the current state of rock and roll bands....there's just been nothing.
The Black Crowes did a damn good reunion record Happiness Bastards, but you knew what you'd get.
MMJ in the studio may be defunct if they can't make it happen with Brendan.
I'm very hopeful this record is a banger masterpiece, but a grower as well. Like I'm open to anything, Jim. We all are. That's why we're Jacket fans.
But just deliver the goods.
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, that one from Jim's solo stuff proves he can still bring it...but even that was 6 years ago.
Wondering if the mistake here is that they're not recording the new album LIVE on a stage somewhere with or without fans, but like that.
Otherwise, it'll always be this "live energy" and it sounds anything but.
Z doesn't sound live really, neither does EVIL URGES and it's okay theyre some of the greatesr albums of all time (tho the live versions improved upon the songs).
ISM definitely does cause they did that in a kitchen live.

Quote from: buzzer on Oct 03, 2024, 10:39 AMI thought the show was excellent.

I don't see it on nugs yet but noticed that Knoxville was already up.

Would there be any reason for the Savannah show to not be included? Thanks for any insight. Can't wait to give it a listen.

Not sure why Savannah isn't up yet but I think Knoxville might be because it was live streamed on nugs. Probably really easy for them to up the audio from there but I don't know for sure if that plays into it.

Quote from: ericm on Oct 01, 2024, 09:34 AMBlazing hot show last night! Felt like the guys were itching to get back to a normal show set length and they sure rocked Savannah big time.

A Laylow to open and 5 off ISM, two from the legendary Under The Overpass set in OlD Sept Blues and Wonderful. Plus a Kris Kristoperson cover and a little Nina Simone thrown in at the end  of Steam Engine.

Every song of the 20 song set was played with their usual gusto and perfection and the crowd was loving it. As usual great to see some Jacket friends and make a few new ones as well.

Last night was it for me as I won't be able to get to any of the last three, but get to one if you can and anyone going have a great time! I know you will and I'm already jonesing for more shows.

This is what I was hoping for!  Glad you got a great show Eric!

Going to the show on Friday in Cleveland!  First time at this venue but it sounds amazing!  Sold out show with only a capacity of just over 2500!  I'm hoping for some fireworks with it being the tour closer and all!!!

A Friday night tour closer sounds like a great show to go to. I'm sure it'll be off the charts and I wish they were webcasting it but no such luck.

Enjoy the show ILB, I know it'll be great! You and Cleveland are in for a treat Friday night. Bo is doing an amazing job with the setlists. Not just song selection, but flow of the shows and how songs are transitioning from one to the next. Really well done and it's made shows even more amazing.
