ps this contest is only available to americans.

could we have a gretsch contest for the canadians?
[smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] <-- this was a really good addition, moderator.  also, i'm pretty keen on the fact that its language is, what i can only assume to be, dutch.  is tekst dutch for text?  that's amazing.
I'M AMAZED!!!

now, now, as much as i'm totally stoked at the use of hatorade and plan to use it excessively in conversation tonight, we should feel pretty spesh that we get 2 shows in a row.  and also, the contest is probably only for americans b/c of gibson.

and i'm pretty sure the cross-canada tour will happen after the us tour*

*by pretty sure, i mean that i hope it happens, but have zero evidence to back this pipe dream up.  i suggest everybody wish on all of the pennies you find on the street, thanks.

hey didn't you and a friend find one after the taping a few weeks ago. That be a good one.  ;)

EC

it just took me ten minutes to figure out who you were d to d.  i got really freaked out there for a moment.  :)

here's a true fact about EC:
i pick up nearly every penny i see on the street (sometimes i don't if cars are coming, or if it's a particularly awkward moment to do so).  and i make wishes on them.  i've realized recently that when i'm making my wish, i say "i hope [blank happens]".  i don't know if there's a difference, but i used to say "i would like [blank]", or "it would be awesome if [blank]".  maybe i'll go back to "it would be awesome if [blank]".

and everybody knows the rule that once you wish on a penny, you have to give it to somebody else so that they can wish on it, and give it to somebody else, right?

here's a really good story:  NYE 2006.  in the summer before, summer of 2005, i'd gone on a road trip with my best friend.  i made a lot of wishes on that road trip, and they all came true.  it was seriously fucked (in a good way).  in a way that made me think about a lot of things differently.  i looked at the world differently after that trip for sure.  ANYHOW, so back to NYE, my best friend is in town visiting (she'd gone away after the summer to go to school) and we go to this party.  my grandma had died that morning, and that afternoon i'd got dump-ed.  it was really gearing up to be the best new year's evah!  i found a penny on the street, but it was inside of ice.  but because i'm a spaz, i got it out.  i gave it to my bff, and we went to the party.  i forgot about it until the next morning.  that penny had made its way around the entire party, into the cab to another party, into ANOTHER car to another party, and then back to my roommate, who brought it home to me the next day.

neat, hey?

even if you don't believe in wishes, it forces you to think about what you want.

i am really avoiding this feasibility study copy edit this morning. ;)

canadians are pretty cheap these days: about 10 toonies.  you can also usually barter for one with a 12-pack

i'm not really sure what a canadian is.  neither is a canadian. ;)

you wanna know something sick?  i still haven't finished the edit.  i don't know what's wrong, but i can't focus on these interesting and life changing statistics and facts about theatre communities in small towns in the usa.   ::)

this thread has also reminded me that i need to go camping soon or i'm pretty sure that my soul will die inside of me and i will become a feasibility study copy-editor with no soul.

how are you doing, ms. yvon part 2?

If that happens, can I start calling you Bartleby?

if that happens, you can call me whatever you want.  it won't matter because i won't have a soul.  but i will be able to tell you the various market audiences within 25 and 45 mile circumferences around the venues, and i will be able to tell you people's income levels and racial diversities in these towns.  i can tell you alllllll about projected revenue figures and do a strategic budget analysis.

oh god it's already happening, SOMEBODY PUT ME NEAR SOME TREES AND LET ME GO SWIMMING!!

I'm going f'ng nuts if I win this.

Nuts, I tell you.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Hope someone from the boards wins it, therefore a true MMJ fan can enjoy the sold out show and the great guitar. It'd be sad to see the tickets and the guitar on eBay...

Too bad they can't give autographs for all the dedicated ones in the forum... that would just be to awesome!

Kory

I got my Acoustic citsuocA signed out back of the 40 watt... better than the autographs, I got to shake the Man's hand.
When I asked them to sign the record Two Tone said, "on the vinyl?!?"

Got to agree with Kory... autographs are great (the entire band signed my Ryman Auditorium poster, here), but the absolute best part is shaking hands and telling them 'You rocked!'...

Kory

That's really all you can tell them, I'm terrible to know what to say to normal people, let alone a group of guys that can melt off my face with music.
In hindsight, I feel weird for getting their autograph... I feel I was just too old to be standing out behind a club to get something signed. Oh well, what's done is done.
