Damnit it didn't post.  I always feel like the guy in Garden State around my parents.  So yeah, i like valium too.  Sorry Meg if this isn't the correct use of the word too.  I saw it was one of your pet peeves.  My brain doesn't want to function.
I painted my name on the back of a leaf
and I watched it float away

one of the greatest days of my life was when I figured out that my parents were just people like me. Just regular old human beings. Of course, it took 10 years of drinking and drugging, rehab and real deep therapy to get there, but...    it was worth it.

You got it right!

You're too cool!

 ;D

Shit, I guess I'm the exception in this crowd cuz I had the greatest parents a guy could ever hope to have.
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

dragonboy

Yeah me too.
I think my parents did a pretty great job of raising us (both my sisters are doctors, I guess I'm the black sheep...)
I love all my family dearly & miss them heaps, especially now around Christmas time.

The fact that my parents have a lovely villa in the beautiful Spanish countryside doesn't hurt either. They just bought a big jacuzzi, can't wait to go back again next summer...
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

If you don't mind me asking, whats in Japan that you and your wife are there for?

dragonboy

My wife has a very good job that pays well & has good benefits, rare for a women in Japan, even in 2006.
I work with children & have done all my life. I'm making twice if not 3 times as much here in Japan as I would be if I was teaching in the UK.

Sounds like you're doing fantastic over there.

Yeah we have a good life, I'm not complaining.
I miss my family but we always try our best to all get together at least once or twice a year. I'll see them in the summer in Spain & then Xmas in the UK next year  :)

I empathize with parental struggles, believe me. My mom is in her 60s and has been acting like a rebellious teen as of late. I feel like her mother most of the time. What Tracy said is wise, though. It's good to realize your parents are people too especially while they are still around. Many things I wish I could've said to my dad. Anyway, back to resolutions.

1- stop wasting so much time
2- eat full meals (too many years getting by on powerbars, etc)
3- be more open to dating and hopefully not attract anymore clingy/insecure/narcissistic drunks deterimined to plague me/waste my time as was the case in 2006.
4- apply for real jobs rather than being in adjunct prof/wage slave hell forever
5- do more volunteer work
6- get out more/expand my horizons so that when my old cat dies I don't immediately throw myself off a bridge

Yeah that happened to me before as well. I honestly needed to say to her "Mom, chill the fuck out. You're 45". Ha.
Some girls mothers are bigger than others girls mothers...

Yeah, I had to escort my mom to traffic court last night for the second time in 2 months. Sometimes I wish I could hire a full time babysitter for her or tie her to her recliner. On a related note, the screenprinters downstairs are playing CSNY's "teach your children well" right now. Maybe I should stop talking about my mom.

ooooo - Tater Tot!  What do you mean??  Do you know what we're talking about?  I mean it's about sex not money, but now that you talk about "payday" maybe I'm not sure of YOUR meaning..... ::) :o ::) :o

1.  See MMJ again.  Anywhere in Europe.
2.  Stop fuckin' moaning about the "stress" of a well-paid job...
3.  See MMJ again.  Anywhere in the world.
4.  Drink less (may reconsider this by Feb 1)
5.  Listen more.
6.  Smile more.
7.  Realise how lucky I've been to find a great life partner, travel in many countries, avoid major illness, live in the first world, and have some great friends and family to call my own.
8.  Not get too self-satisfied about 7 above.

Quote& go on a diet...

Oh yeah... that too.  Damn you, beer, cheese & wine, you are my downfall!  mwahahahaha
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Sex & money are always connected in one way or another.   If your married or single it  still costs you.  Date nite with my wife is probably just as expensive as getting a hooker. Which I would NEVER consider.  I would rather go blind from masturbating,( at least thats  what my mom told me would happen.) ;D    ok,   I gotta go shave my palms, Sorry about not articulating my thoughts better.
