We know a little bit about some of the music Jim likes...does anyone know anything about the other guys music tastes?

We know that Jim likes Bob Dylan, M Ward, Elvis Perkins...

There was a great article in UNCUT magazine a few months back, where Jim talked about different songs/albums:
http://www.mymorningjacket.com/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1213231681/4#4

The First Song I Remember: Dan Fogelberg - Leader Of The Band
The Record That Decided My Destiny: Dinosaur Jr - Fossils
My Comfort Album: John Prine - ST
My Unlikely Influence: James - Laid
The Song I Want Played @ My Funeral: Sam Cooke With The Soul Stirrers - The Last Miles Of The Way (overdubbed 1970)
My Favourite Concept Album: Eels - Electro Shock Blues
Record With The Best Reverb Ever: Louvin Brothers - Satan Is Real
Record That Reminds Me Of Home: Grandpa Jones - 8 More Miles To Louisville
Record That Got Me Into Funk Synths: Marvin Gaye - Trouble Man
My Latest Discovery: John Callahan - Purple Winos In Rain

I remember reading that Jim loves Allen Toussaint's Southern Nights & Parliament's First Thangs.

Please post anything you've read/can remember about the music that the guys in the band listen to.

Thanks!  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I remember one interview.....or maybe it was a fan run-in at a record store......where Jim was buying an older Common CD.

Pat and Bo are BIG fans of The Band, for sure. Pat can dig some Drozd-era Flaming Lips if my memory serves me accurately, too.

I spoke with Tommy about music a few years back and he told me he was really digging Isis a lot. Picked up "Oceanic" after that and was pretty blown away by its heaviness.

Thanks Rob, Tom.

And they're all Neil Young fans, I think Carl especially cause of that interview where he said he wanted to be in Crazy Horse or something like that.
Oh and I think in another interview he said his favourite album was After The Gold Rush.
How loud can silence get?

MMJ talks a bit about their very early influences in the Austin City Limits interview - online version.   To summarize...leader of the band, thriller, the muppet show, simon and grafunkel, disney soundtracks.
