Yeah, SI sent me like four issues last week.  I need to catch up but the Pictures issue is a quick read.  ;)

on a side note, I don't think I'm going to resubscribe.  The information doesn't move quick enough in this day and age.  With Rick Reily gone, it's just not worth it anymore.

Definitely needed that after Pat Devlin said hes transferring too

Getting Kevin Newsome was pretty big. He has a chance to be a three-year starter during his time at PSU. A good sign that PSU is sticking with an offense similar to when MRob held the throne and the current Clark offense.

I don't know if JoePa will finish out the three years. The contract had language saying it could be extended or shortened for various reasons. I think he'll finish two of them. The assistants get paid for 3 no matter what. I think Joe stays 2 and Tom Bradley takes over, which would be interesting. I don't really like when things stay in-house, but since he did alot of the coaching this year with Joe in the box, maybe it wouldn't be bad, plus Bradley gets a lot of the main recruits.

I've been away since before the SEC Championship game...

Arenas cost us the game on three horrible returns, obviously, but he's been doing this all season long so I pretty much warned everyone that our early field positions would determine winning or losing. Arenas is a really nice guy, but he's got to get it out of his head that he's good enough to run them all back - he's got the record at BAMA for returns, or at least tied it, but its gotten to his head that he's "The Duece" and it's cost us dearly all year long. On the flip side, Arenas has improved his defense ten fold, so it's a give and take.

The collar tackle penalty against Alabama was the turning point of the game, I thought. Had we put them 3-and-out on that third or fourth consecutive drive, who knows?

Anyway, it was an amazing game. I hope Florida destroys Oklahoma and we're able to do the same against whoever it was we're up against.


Auburn. The only reason they didn't hire Turner Gill is because he's got a white wife and the meddlers in the Barner administration were afraid of the deep south backlash from the head of their program being in an interracial marriage. The only reason they hired Shiznit is because Pat Dye and company wanted someone they could puppeteer.

Interesting that Tennessee has gotten no backlash for their hire? They interviewed one black coach... and at least Auburn's Shiznit, 5-19 as a head coach, has 5 more wins as a head coach than the Vol's new head coach.

Turner Gill looks good, and all, but if I was looking for a new head coach at an SEC school, I'd interview Charlie Strong.

What do you all think about Charles Barkley comments about Auburn's hire?  For that matter, what do you all think about Auburn's hire?  Dude leads Iowa State to a 2-11 record and gets a job at Auburn?  Something's fishy there.  Barkley obviously thinks there might be some racist people in Alabama.  I'll take his word for it.  :-X

I'm a big Barkley fan.  Even named my dog after him.  True story! He is registered as Sir Charles Bark Lee .  No joke.  But, he tells like it is, black or white.  If this were Sharpton or Jackson playing the race card that would be one thing, but Barkley has always been a straight shooter.    So, you gotta think smoke=fire, here.  Side note, I met ol Chuck one night in B'ham.  Very genuine.  Super nice guy.

Hahaha!  It's not as bad as it seems.  We named him Charlie.  When we had to put an "official" name on the papers I just ran with Bark Lee thing.   It's funny when my wife gets on to him though, cuz she calls him by his full name.

When I was growing up, I had two pet hampsters.  I named them
MC Hampster and the Humpster.   :-[
