Well you guys inspired me to do something artistic again.  I hadn't really done much since high school and I have very little natural ability, but I make up for it with patience and drafting techniques.  Anyway, I thought doing my new babies room would be a way for me to do something fun and productive at the same time so I thought I would share the results with you.  It's a Formula One racing theme based on the BMW Sauber F1.06 Car.  The funky pattern on the wall is the graphic that is on the nose of the car.  I realize that I am probably one of only about seventeen F1 fans in the US, but it's something that I am very passionate about.  Anyway, that's a whole different subject.  This is just about the art.....

(By the way, my best work was performed while listening to The Mysterious Production of Eggs.  I would suggest this technique to all artists. ;)   3-17-01 KVRX Radio show was a close second!)

I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

MMJ_fanatic

That has got to be one of the coolest damned nurseries I've ever seen--nice work man!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

dragonboy

That is so cool and SO good BH! Man, you are talented!!!
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Wow great work!  :o

and nice to see that there´re more people here that enjoy watching F1!  :)

BH

Thanks guys. ;)

Real men turn left and right, isn't that right Patches!  Glad to see there is another fan around!  F1 makes me want to move to Europe so I can go to more races.

Angry Ewok

That's an awesome nursery, brother.

Here's me, today, after coming home from work... my Babe Ruth WIP in hand. Babe is crosshatched, while his uniform is stippled... the background is sponged ink, I've been brushing in white acrylic highlights, and adding watercolor, too. Not happy with it yet, but I'll give it time.

--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Yeah my father used to be a big fan. He even travelled to Brazil and Canada just to watch F1. I think in Europe he´s been to a lot of races (Germany, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Monaco, France, Belgium, Spain...). But somehow he lost his interest. He met once Ayrton Senna at the airport in Lisbon. He was a big fan of him and visited his grave when he was in Brazil.
Have you been at the Indianapolisrace wheere the disaster with the tyres happened? I think it was 2005....I´m not sure about that!

BH

Yep, that was my very first "live" race!  Pretty dissappointing.  I did get free tickets for last year which made up for it somewhat.   My next goal is to go to the Canadian GP and then, I think in '09 they are bringing back the Mexican GP at an all new track in Cancun.  But my ultimate goal is to someday go to the Nurburgring for the German GP.  Have you ever driven your car thru the green hell?

Here's the ferocious bear I made this weekend at my first metal work workshop.  Had to cut that copper with the smallest saw you ever did see - and it kept breaking at the smallest breath.  Was fun, though.
My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

look at your bear!!  that's terrific!  can you make him dance?
how big is he?

Hey thanks! Ya, he can dance - not too well because my holes weren't lined up properly but the point gets made.  He's only about 7 inches from head to toe.  I think he's pretty fuckin cool.  Now I have metal fever and I can't wait to make something else.... but I have to wait for payday.

Very cool.  I like the finish.

I love this thread.  I would consider myself a fan of Jenny's at this point and that stuff you did in your baby's room BH...WOW, I'm so impressed with all of this stuff.  Keep up the great work Gang!!!

Awesome!!

Here is a few shots (before and after) of my kitchen. Not really artistic but it's one of the few talents I have. I do have a few paintings I did that I'll try to get some pics of.

The DARK

I would love to live in that house.
In another time, in another place, in another face

This sketch is from a few years ago, but i've added to it here and there over time. I've been thinking about making this a painting. Its called "The Smoker".
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

As promised. Here are 2 paintings I have done recently. I'm learning to enjoy oils. Strangely, I find it very relaxing.

Thanks - I discovered "liver of sulfer" and it patina's copper beautifully!  That, some colored pencil plus a little sandpaper make things look nice and worn.

Oh, and face, if you're talking about my bear, despite what you may have heard, I'm not REALLY Tracy.  My mustache is much bigger. (and my music collection is no doubt much smaller!   ;)
