This story is terrible/unbelievable. I dont really see how Walmart would be liable in this situation, but somebody owes this family a boatload of money for the injustices brought upon them.

They need to provide better training for employees working in the photo department so they don't go off half cocked like this one did.

Im pretty sure something like that is standard protocol at any photo place, which is why I dont really think Walmart is liable for this (although they are the ones with the money). Yeah, the pics look innocent and normal, but you need to err on the side of caution. Child Services or whatever gov't facet are the ones that seem to have fucked up major time on this one.

A pit bull attacked my girlfriends dog and hurt it pretty bad. Ronnie is an older chihuahua mix. Bruises and puncture wounds later and TOTALLY shell shocked. Seriously, it looks like he's seen a ghost :-/ My girl had him on his leash and walking by a persons house( on the sidewalk mind you) here out from a carport comes the pit. Pit grabs our dog and shakes him etc and nips my girl on the finger and scratched her.The people that own the pit were like this has never happened and blah blah blah...They paid the vet bill but that's not the point. My family will not become a statistic from someones stupidity or neglect.The next thing for that dog will be someones kid I'm afraid

Shit that's terrible! Did you report them to the authorities? I can't believe how f*cking selfish & stupid some people are. Like you said, what happens next time when the dog attacks a kid?!!

That's awful, RC!

Check your state laws. If the pit wasn't on a leash and not contained the dog will be taken away and the owners will face criminal charges.

That sucks Cola...Luckily it wasnt worse. Id check out the situation and see what you can do so something like this doesnt happen again like others said.

Got a nasty looking rottie on an electric fence and if it is out I draw Tawny close and get my Kissing Cranes Stiletto in my hand...

My friends family raised 2 Pits. After years of never doing any wrong they started getting agressive. Once they both started biting people (myself included) they never stopped. They both had to be put to sleep. I think you're right about kids being next unfortunately.

I dont like to complain buuut, my career is starting to suck the life out of my soul. Its time for a transition. I told myself when I started 3-5 years and then it will be time for a new adventure and a new place to live. Its been 3 years...Its def time for a new adventure. I was so happy there once....  :-/

We had a German Shepherd on an electric fence across the street.  He was as submissive as could be when not on his own property, but once you got him in his yard behind that fence, he was territorial...as he should have been.  

Long story short, he ended up nearly killing my dog.  $1,800 and two months of vet visits virtually every day later, I asked the neighbors via an explanatory letter to consider paying half the bill.  They refused and got completely up in arms because they had decided to rehome the dog.  His actual words "you want me to pay $900?  I spent a lot of money on my dog and we don't even have him anymore and the children are heartbroken!"  Mind you, we never asked them to rehome the dog, put up an actual fence, nada.  

I hope your puppy will be okay.  Definitely check out the leash laws.  Pits have such a bad rep, but unfortunate incidents such as yours can be prevented.

Definitely can be scary but exciting, too!  What are you thinking of doing next?

Yes, I'm certainly excited about this. I'm not quite sure what's next and that's ok. That may have to be a long conversation over several beers.  ;D
