Thought I posted this last night...not sure what happened to the post...but hoping for good news Woody!

Grandpa is in the hospital with breathing problems.  He's 75.  Hope he hangs around for awhile.  He's a great guy.

2 weeks ago my brother-n-law had a brain hemmorhage/anneurism which led to cardiac arrest, he seemed to recover and we thought he'd be in intensive care for another couple weeks, as of yesterday morning, they thought he was having mini strokes and they're unable to keep his blood vessels open. I've been waiting for the call any minute that he will not make it..no matter what, I'll be at the show WED (as this show is the only thing that's keeping me sane) - it's been touch and go with my nervous system...he is only 42. i don't want my only niece to grow up without a dad. I'm really pissed at him for being a smoker with high blood pressure and a history of heart probs in the fam. WTF!

Man, that is a crazy story woody.  I hope it has a happy ending.  A good friend of mine wandered off and goot lost at a Dead show back in the late 80's.  He ended up taking about 6 hits of acid and wandered off on his own.  We were looking for him most of the night and were just about to head home without him when he finally showed up at a medical tent.  He had a very bad trip and ended up in the hospital for about a week as it seemed he wasn't coming out of his trip.  He finally took a turn for the better, but to this day, still seems a little off after that trip.

Hawkeye, I'll send off some thoughts and prayers to your grandpa as well.


And sorry to hear about your brother Penny.  Thoughts and prayers for him and his family and for you and your family as well.  I'm 40 so hearing your brother's age really hits home to me being a father of 3 young girls myself.  Hang in there!  I'm sure he'll pull through!

I haven't heard exactly that they have, but I've got to assume they've checked... that was my very first thought, too... "Hey he got rowdy and probably got tossed in the pen..." (or injured himself somehow) But they organized a huge search for him a few days ago and have called all radio stations and news channels to advertise his missing... as well as riding the police's asses about it too.  There are so many people really involved that I've really got to think they've covered that turf, though I will certainly pose the question, on the off-chance that they hadn't thought of it.

They're holding a candlelight vigil for Jimmy in just a few minutes back home, so I'm gonna go get my candles and light them at the same time to pray with them!  Praying for his safety and his return, and prayers for their whole family, they're going through a lot right now with the grandparents too........  :-\ :-\ :-\

While this complaint isn't nearly as serious as what both Woody and Penny are dealing with... I am in a state right now. My ten year old niece, whom I dearly love, but has a tendency to trash my house (she almost burnt it down three weeks ago -slight hyperbole there) spilled maraschino cherry juice all over my couch last night. So far the fabric cleaner that I have used is not working. Pissed is perhaps the nicest word I can use right now.
