bunnies? Don't want to burst your bubble but they tend to stink and chew wires which is not a good combination for me. Be ready to change the bedding often.

May I suggest guinea pigs? They are pretty cute too and less stinky and overall just less of a pain in the ass.

I wouldn't let it run around my house, so I'm not worried about the chewing.

I am worried about the smell   ;D

My coworker is super into bunnies and has two indoor ones.  SHe says that male, unneutered bunnies CAN be stinky because of their machismo gland.  She assures me that they are no stinkier than any other pet aside from that.  Good Luck!

QuoteI'm thinking about getting a pet bunny.  We had bunnies when I was growing up, but always as outdoor pets, never indoors.

Does anyone have any advice, suggestions, or warnings before I get too deeply invested in the idea?   ;D

I had both indoor and outdoor bunnies at different times. My indoor bunny used a litter box and I dont remember it smelling...

Cool, thanks for all the input you guys.  The organization I'm looking at spays/neuters and litterbox trains all their rabbits before they are adopted out, so that part of the equation should be okay.  I'm still deciding whether I have enough time and resources for a furry pet...maybe I'll just get a fish for now.    :)

ALady

Sweet!  Thanks mjk, I might just take you up on that!   :)

I know what you're saying. I contemplate getting a furry friend, but I'm always bouncing here and there I know I just cant do it right now.

i think that the colder weather has brought a mouse into my home. any suggestions as to how i can solve this disgusting dilemma?

(i can't have a cat b/c i'm super allergic...  also, i don't really like cats)

If you're not worried about killing a small rodent, the old-fashion mousetrap with a piece of cheese works like a charm.  If that seems immoral to you, you can spend a lot of money on a "humane" trap and dump it in the woods.

yeah, if youre not queasy about throwing the dead mouse in the trash, mousetrap is the way to go.

I think they have poisoned food type deals too, no? that might be less bloody

How come you never see female pedal steel players?

I want to learn how to play pedal steel.

Me too! I wanted one for my birthday but never got around to buying one. I looked at some prices but I'll have to save some more..

I think it probably has something to do with there not being much of a way to avoid...um...exposure.  Since there usually isn't a "back" on the pedal steel, the lady would have to either wear pants or have her back to the audience.  Until then, there's always the lap steel, which I know lots of women who play those.  The lap steel is more of a side-saddle approach to the steel guitar.

The problem with the poison is that they take it back to their nest to eat it. Their nest may be in your wall, floorboards, or crawlspace. So then you have a rotting rodent that you can't easily get to.

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years.

CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.

Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."

This news comes on the heels of today's news that Obama played golf with a woman — chief domestic policy adviser Melody Barnes — for the first time since taking office.

Kind of like when Bush set the record for a sitting prez by taking 879 personal days off?  ::)

Fanatic - did you ever think maybe Obama enjoys golfing so he does it more often? Also, its a good way to build connections with people. Why do you think so many businessmen spend 10hrs a week on the golf course?

Nice try though  ;D

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with playing golf. But extended days off...not so much.   ;)
