The Hawks/Canucks game last night was great, very entertaining. I didnt see the first 12 or so minutes of it because Flyers/B's was on here, but I thought the Hawks decidedly outplayed the Canucks the last 2 periods. After Versteeg lost that puck at the end when it looked like he easily would have beaten Luongo if he was able to go backhand, I let out a big "ohh" but then a couple passes later he hammers it home.

Without Gagne and Carter, Id say that series is already over with Boston up 2-0

I hate the Wings, but it's far too early to count them out, especially since the Sharks are notorious chokers.

joey_rogo

ok guys. here comes the hate....

Months ago, Daniel Carcillo was merely a blip on my hatred radar, but now he is approaching Patrick Kaleta-esque levels of hate.

Here is the latest episode:

After this game, he claimed that Savard bit him in a scrum. I don't feel like finding the whole quote, but at one point he said 'men don't bite.' There isn't a smilie that properly expresses my rage. Savard said that Danny reached into his mouth and tried to yank his front teeth out. And yknow what?? I believe Savard. Danny needs to quit this shit. I'd be ashamed of my team if I saw him wearing my sweater.

O yeah, and don't forget this one:

Men Don't Bite. :D

joey_rogo

o yeah, i forgot to make fun of his mustache. it is an insult to real mustaches all over the world. philly fans are making t-shirts about 'fearing the stache.' george parros has a real mustache. carcillos is almost as bad as when crosby tries to grow facial hair. turrible, just turrible.

Jaimoe

I hate Carcillo. He's got talent (he was a good OHL junior), but he's a fucker. However, Savard ain't no saint either. He's had moments in his career where he's been a sneaky rat, but I still like him, mainly because he's integral to the Bruins success.

I wouldve agreed with you at this time yesterday, especially since both games were close and DET probably wouldve won game 1 if not for their 2 minute defensive mind fart in the first period, but down 3-0 this series is over. I thought the Sharks would win, but since DET is so clutch and SJ is typically the opposite, I went with DET. Shouldve trusted my gut.

Whoever comes out of the West is going to be very tough...This Hawks-Canucks series has 6 or 7 games written all over it.

And as for Savard, Carcillo definitely gave him a couple unneccessary shots, but if Carcillo says he bit him, Id actually believe Carcillo. Savard actually bit someone in 2003 or so, so its not like he doesnt have a history.

He's a goon, but he's about as skillful of a goon as they come

He's more of an agitator/fighter; there aren't too many goons around anymore.

I can't watch the game - I'm at work - because I only have in-house channels on my regular TV monitor (and almost all the channels are owned by the TV network I work for). However, rival network CBC and HNIC is one of the channels, so the Canucks-Hawks game just came on. Go Hawks and go Bruins!!

joey_rogo

well Jaimoe, the Bruins made it 4-4 with 30 seconds to go to take it to OT. it has been a good game.

and yes, i agree, go hawks!

I saw the highlights on HNIC.

I'm seen as anti-Canadian to the casual hockey fan such as my wife, who'll cheer for any team based in Canada once their team is out. But you understand how I could hate the Habs, Sens and Canucks, right? The Habs are the most hated rival of the Bruins and I just hate the Canucks because Vancouver folks think very highly of themselves and they hate Toronto - in fact, it's their collective past-time. Oh, I also hate those sweetheart Sedin twins too. I hate the Senators because they are Leaf rivals and their fans are fucking annoying. I don't care for many of their players either. HATE!!!! Get this, I know diehard Leaf fans that cheered for Ottawa and Montreal in the playoffs. This is just plain wrong. I remind people that I often cheer for the team with the most Canadians on it, but I'm pulling for the Bruins over Philly since they are my lifelong team. I have no love for the Canuck-loaded Sharks, but I generally despise the Wings, so I hope Joe and company win, even though I don't care for that fucker Heatley and playoff underachiever Marleau.

joey_rogo

When I was a little kid I loved the Bruins. I loved #77 and Cam Neely. I can definately see how you hate the Habs. I would love to see a BOS/MTL conference final though. (As I type this the Flyers just won) I rarely see the Canucks so I am pretty neutral when it comes to them. As far as I'm concerned, if the Wings, Flyers and Penguins can all lose this round... it will be a stress free finals for me.

I work with a guy who is a diehard Habs fan and he said to me tonight that he hopes the Bruins win because he wants a Boston-Montreal conference final. It's tough to disagree with him on that.

The Canucks play a great and exciting brand of hockey, I just don't like them and the Sedins have a lot to do with this as does Vancouver the city and its hatred of all things Toronto (admittedly, Van is a beautiful and was recently rated the #1 most liveable city in the world by a major publication - I think Toronto was 4th, but I'd rather live here).

Jaimoe

The IIHF World Hockey Championship started yesterday. The Ruskies are loaded thanks to the Caps going out early: Ovie and that fuckface Semin are on the team. Canada has sent over a bunch of youngsters including Corey Perry and Steve Stamkos.

But... did you Yanks see what happened yesterday?

Obviously as a Pens fan, Im biased, but I dont want to see BOS-HABS...I think the Pens are the only team in the east who have a shot at beating CHI, SJ, or VAN, and Id favor all of those teams over any team in the east at this point ( :()

Too bad the Habs were down their three best defensemen (Gill went out in the 2nd period). As a result, their best D-man tonight was future star and rookie call-up P.K. Subban (he was an OHL superstar, but Montreal got him in the 2nd round of the 2007 draft).
