When I first read about a 17 year deal for a 27 year old I thought it was crazy, but the way the contract is setup it makes better sense now. I'm not getting these lifetime contracts, but I guess it's the only way to get the top players payed.

Had my money league draft yesterday. I had the 7th pick outta 10 and was hoping to grab Malkin (ESPN had him ranked 11th). Couldn't get my boy Nicky Backstrom (Ranked 3rd). Here's my roster...

Do penalty minutes count in your league? I think you are a little suspect on defense and in net, but a pretty solid lineup other than that.

Yup PIM's count. Yeah my defense isn't good, but I'm hoping that two defensemen from VAN will help my +/-. I read somewhere that Seabrook will be playing with Keith this year...is that wrong? But he was a sleeper pick that I thought could payout playing alongside Keith. My goalies aren't top-notch, but I'm deeper than anyone else. Hopefully I'll win categories like W's, Minutes, and Saves.

Yeah most people in money league this year are hockey fans and know most players, but they don't know their value. What website are you drafting through? Because I find ESPN's rankings a little weak. I drafted using Yahoo's rankings for an ESPN draft. I gotta say I'm respecting Yahoo Sports a lot. They seems to do good work, and recently it seems that people are giving them respect.

I see that my MN State Mavericks are ranked 10th in the WCHA. It's going to be a long season for them, but at least the U of MN is still going to be the U of MN. Hopefully they'll do something.

We are using Yahoo. I use it for the fantasy NASCAR league I am in as well and I like their system a lot (it also helps that I am leading that one). I'm pretty sure there is no money up for grabs in this league, which leads me to believe that I should do fairly well in it haha.

As for the NCAA, my Clarkson Golden Knights are coming off one of their worst (maybe even the very worst) seasons in program history. If they keep this crap up they might lose their distinction as winningest program in D1 history. Michigan's win %age is creeping up on ours. So I see them finishing bottom half in the ECAC this year, a slight step up from dead last.

my buddies and i have been using yahoo for hockey pools for the last 6 years and they just keep improving. you can't only rely on their rankings though. that's no fun and you miss out on some gems ranked ridiculously low.

Had the 8th out of 10 pick. Think I did pretty good early, but I have no idea on the type of value mid-late considering how small the league is. The benches are short as my dick when I was 4 years old, its ridiculous. My buddy who is the commish is a waiver wire nazi, but he went overboard this time. 5 bench spots total?! You gotta be shittin' me!!

Yeah I was seeing that Geno was going earlier than what he was ranked at. Not that it was reaching or anything, but I was surprised that he was ranked 12th on ESPN and went top 5 in my league. I was hoping to get him at the 7th.

I thought that was awesome, but I thought it was great how Avery acted after it, even he thought it was funny. I love Avery.
