Sorry so late, but I wanted to add to the All-star game discussion.

I watched everything except most of the game. I have to say that I thought the draft was awesome and the highlight of the weekend! I watched it twice. The guy from TSN was funny and did a great job. The players were funny. Toews looked genuinely pissed  haha! Great idea, and I'll watch it again next year.

Over the weekend I laced up the skates, and hit the ice for the first time in a while. Great time, and I didn't fall once!

I found the skills competition mostly a tough watch, but far better than the game itself. The trick break-away competition was unwatchable. As an aside, check out this year's AHL all-star jerseys (historically, they should be called sweaters). I think they are better than 80% of the ones in the NHL. Beautiful looking, I tell you whut.

I laced up the blades yesterday too on the outdoor rink across the street from my place. I'm in a down-time with my team (I'm on-call and not a full member), so I had the entire rink to myself and I shot the puck around and skated pretty hard for an hour. The temperature was perfect for good outdoor ice: -10C.

I actually wrote something about the trick shot part, but then I deleted it. They need to get rid of it for sure. I think that's the only thing I didn't like about the Skill Comp. I forgot which player said it, but someone said he had too much vodka the night before  ;D

I'll check out the jerseys. One time my buddy went up to someone who was wearing a Gophers jersey, and told him nice sweater. The guy got offended and said it's not a sweater it's a jersey. Long story short...they almost got into a fight about it, but even his friends knew what hell my buddy was talking about so it cooled down quickly.

Won my fantasy league! I might use the winnings to go to the frozen four in St Paul.  Anyone else catch a game? I was only able to watch the Colorado College  vs Boston College game. It was nice to see CC kick the crap outta BC. And I guess they're starting a Big Ten conference for hockey. Penn State is getting a team.

Never mind. I guess the games are sold out already. I was surprised that Woody Paige mentioned the Frozen Four on Around the Horn yesterday. Plus, he was really loving  U of MN Duluth. Gotta go with the Bulldogs!

I love NHL playoffs! I'm really impressed by what the Pens accomplished with so many injuries this year, regardless of what happens in the playoffs. Bylsma should get the Jack Adams award. Impressive win over Tampa Bay last night. And who knows, if Crosby comes back we could go deep into the playoffs.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Yeah, these games right now are pretty much icing on the cake..Going into the last game of the season, we couldve won the division and been the 2 seed with Crosby missing half the season and Malking and Staal both missing a third, not to mention Fleury sucking at the beginning of the yr. Bylsma is def coach of the yr IMO

After last nights game, its clear this series will go at least 6 games. They really fucked themselves with all the penalties last night...If we play great D like we did all yr, and MAF doesnt five up the softies which to his credit has been an amazing improvement this yr, we should be good.

I think Sid comes back next series *if we win

As for other series, I dont see many upsets. Habs are up 2-0 and Id guess they win because of that, but the Bruins are such a high seed bc of Thomas and not their offense so the Bs losing isnt that surprising to me

I'm going Sharks vs Flyers. Sharks taking it. It's going to be Nucks or Sharks. They both have something to prove.

The Flyers had me a bit nervous with their lackluster goaltending in the first game & a half. But Brian Boucher has looked pretty solid between the pipes. Hopefully this trend continues. Also praying to all known deities that Pronger comes back soon

I dunno..Flyers got lucky last yr by not having to play us or the Caps..I hate the Flyers, but I know how good they are so Im not discounting them on bias. I think the East is much deeper this year, all these series will probably go 6+ games. When youve already pulled Bob only a few games into the playoffs, you gotta be nervous.

The West is basically a 3 horse race between Nucks, Wings, and Sharks..I think this is the year Vancouver doesnt choke and gets to the finals...Choking in the finals all might depend on if a top team from the east gets there, of if theyre playing BUF or NYR bc of a hot Miller or Lundqvist - which in that case I dont think theyll choke.

I BELIEVE... I'm not gonna lie, I thought the Blackhawks were toast against the Nucks.  Game 7 is gonna be insane at my house Tuesday. I might have to take a nap after work so I can stay up late for that 9:00 pm start.   Win or lose I'm still proud of how they came back.   Other than  there goalie issues I think we've been out hit and out played.  I'm betting on the Nucks to come out hitting like they did in games 1-3 and the Sadin's to be at the top of there game.

Are the 2011 Blackhawks going to pull a 2010 Flyers?

I hope so but I'm not gonna make a prediction.  I might jinx'em.    With the Bulls playing at 7:00 tonite I might not be able to get that nap in.  Either way,  tonite is gonna be exciting,  especially with the Pacers playing like a hockey team.

My Bruins are doing well against Philly and were lucky to beat the Habs. As a Montreal hater, I feel no joy in Habs legendary goalie, Ken Dryden, losing his seat in last night's Canadian federal election. Dryden's a key figure in the Liberal Party and is a thoughtful and decent politician.

Holy crap was Tim Thomas a beast last night! He obviously started out a bit slow but sewed it up quite nicely after the 1st 2 goals were scored (this is coming from a Flyers fan & we don't deal out compliments to opponents very often ::)). I thought the Flyers had it won at the very end of the 3rd, but Briere was just a 1/2 second late on that empty netter. It's gonna be interesting trying to climb out of the hole in Boston. We'll see I guess.

The Flyers and their inept goaltending is a 15-year running joke. If they ever had a top-flight netminder, they'd have won a couple more Cups.

I know it's too early to say but if Tim Thomas keeps it up he will be MVP of this series and potentially lead the Bruins to Stanley Cup victory. Marchand's playing has been spectacular as well. Can't wait for game 3.
