Congrats dickface.

I'm sure this is just as exciting as the 4,000 other champonships you have seen your city win.  :-/

this year has been fun. My boss is an Arizona Cardinals fan, so the week after the Super Bowl was interesting for me; and his girlfriend is a Red Wings fan, making it 2-0 me in the workplace. The jokes about this being my last week may turn out to be true if my favorite team takes down his favorite team again.

Headdy are we done with the name yet? Or at least give us a timetable.

It might be hard to believe, but this feels better than either of the super bowls Pittsburgh has won the last few years. I wasnt sure if it would or not a couple weeks ago, and sure beating the Wings and Hossa at Detroit makes it that much better, but I still think this even feels better.

I think hockey is more exciting to watch than football although Im a bigger football fan, but I really realized last year and this year how much more emotionally involved I get with hockey. Football is once a week for 4 months, then playoffs once a week for a month. Hockey is 3-4 times a week for nearly 6 months, and then the playoffs are 3-4 times a week for 2 months if you make it the whole way.

I had to work so I couldnt attend, but recorded the entire parade. The players just looked so happy and astounded by the turnout, it was aweosme. Wish I was there. The Pens actually drew 375,000 people today compared to the Steelers getting 350,000 earlier this year, and I think Pittsburgh's population is like 1.1 million or something.   [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

Man, this is going to be so fun watching this team for a long time.

Tough call. I think waiting the whole week for the football game makes it exciting. The Stanley Cup was definitely better than Super Bowl XL but its too close to call with XLIII

No doubt, the wait (and ESPN banking on it) make football very entertaining in the playoffs during the week despite no games. I love that wait in the playoffs, but once you to the superbowl matchup and it takes 2 weeks, thats when it gets stale to me. None of the analysts can really tell me anything I dont already know:

-Minimize ARZ passing game, contain Fitzgerald, PIT get the running game going, Roethlisberger cant make mistakes

-Fleury cant give up soft goals, Pens need to capitalize on the PP, Pens cant take penalties.

I say the same thing to my friends and theyre valid points, except in hockey we get a new slate every 2-3 days instead of every week. I love the Steelers and football is my sport, but I think this Pens team winning the cup means more to me.

Part of it has to do with the players. Not that the Steelers dont love it here, but I think a lot of Pens appreciate it. Almost every sportsfan loves football, not the same for hockey, and I think the Pens reaction today made me realize that even more  :)

Crosby is a Minnesotan, so I wasn't too bothered by it. Wild and the Maple Leafs are my teams. Leafs, because when that piece of shit Norm Green took "pro" hockey out of Minnesota I had to go a different route. Just the name Norm Green makes me wanna flip. But like I said, he only took "pro" hockey with him, that's all. Fuck him!

One year at Shattuck-Saint Mary's makes "The Kid" a Minnesotan? Don't tell that to folks in Cole Harbour, NS.

I've been unable to use my work computer for internet purposes - we've been banned... and I work for a major fucking television network - so I'll be missing a lot from now on. At least I won't have time to sift through all the warring going on between "former" MMJ board members.

Yeah Jaimoe, I just trying to keep the clubhouse loose.  ;)

But come on, can you think of a more Canadian state?

Than Nova Scotia? Yes I can: Ontario, or Alberta (oil, conservative, Calgary Stampede, home of right-wing PM Stephen Harper). Nova Scotia is pretty Canadian through and through, and a fine place to visit and/or live.

No, I was talking about Minnesota being the most Canadian state there is. I'm proud of that.

It wasn't when Jesse The Body was in charge. I've always thought Maine or Upper New York State was the most Canadian, but then again, I'm from east/central Canada. Northern Michigan gets pretty hoser-like too.
