Quotethe way i see it, we're tied. sox have 4 games left to play, and the twins have 3. if we both win out, we tie, and then the playoff game in chicago. so, it's certainly not over.

It's the biggest game of the year for Twins fans and they aren't even playing today.  WOW,  I hope they can pull out a win and force a playoff on tuesday. Even if they don't go far into the playoffs they still win the Central Div.   How pissed are you they lost 2 outta 3  to KC ?
They are tuff those Royals.  GO SOX

Go Sox today in about 15 innings.  Then I'll take a 3 rain-delay, 17 inning thriller on Tuesday.

Love,

Tampa Bay Rays, AL East Champions.

Congrats to you on the Rays winnin the East.  The way you guys played us all season I knew they were for real.  The only downfall for the Rays was that they are a young team without playoff experience.
They didn't crumble and finished strong.  Good luck to ya the rest of the way, unless that is you play my White Sox.  Wishful thinking I know  :-[.

Heh,heh, bout as pissed as the CWS for losing 2 outta 3 from the Indians. And just think they coulda took the division and not even be playing this makeup game today.Great the Twins can sit home and watch while resting even if they do have to travel to Chicago tomorrow for the tiebreaker.GO TWINS!!!!!

I know, don't remind me.  We really don't deserve to still be in contention the way we have been playing.  Now I get to listen to all the A-hole Cubs  fans root for Detroit ( not a blanket statement that all cubs fans are A-holes   ;) ).  I just don't understand all the hate for the Sox. I always root for the Cubs when they  aren't playing the Sox.  I think it's just jealousy cause we did it in 05.

Who is gonna be the Bartman this year  ;D ;D ;D   ?

Nothin wrong with defending something you enjoy.    Thank god for the rain delay,  cleaning off my desk and heading home to finish watching the game.

i was working, but from what i hear there was a conspiracy. numerous wild pitches and past balls, walks, and a fastball right down the heart of the plate. i didn't see, but this is what i hear...thoughts? is this true?

Did anyone notice that the Cubs last game was cancelled because Houston was out of playoff contention?  when did they start cancelling games because of that?  apparently after tampa and anaheim played their last games.  How is it fair that everyone plays 162 except for cubs and astros?  I thought that was really weird.

This is definitely worth a read:

I got this off of http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=3611226.

• Suspended Animation -- April 28 (with Part II on Aug. 26): Orioles 4, White Sox 3, in 14 innings (over 17 weeks). This wasn't the best game of the year, but it sure was the most complicated. It got weathered out April 28 in Chicago, then finished Aug. 26 in Baltimore. But officially, in baseball's technicality-obsessed eyes, it all happened in April. So that means: Orioles rookie Lou Montanez got the first hit of his career on April 28 -- even though he wasn't called up until Aug. 5. And he got it in Chicago, even though he has never played there. History will also tell us that Orioles pitcher Alberto Castillo won his first big league game on April 28, even though he didn't arrive in the majors until July 8. And Orioles reliever Rocky Cherry collected his first save 3½ months before his call-up, too. Junior Griffey walked, meaning he officially reached base for two teams in the same day. (He also singled for the Reds on April 28.) And because the grand finale was part of a "doubleheader" in Baltimore, the Orioles managed to occupy first and last place on the same day. By winning "Game 1," they moved into first on April 28. But by losing "Game 2," they were still right back in last place on Aug. 25. Try that on your Xbox sometime.

I would semi agree with those observations, The Tigers pitching was suspect after Garcia left the game. After Rameriz hit his slam it  looked like Detroit just gave up. It was also  a strange stike zone. It seemed to shrink when detroit took the mound.  The umpiring was almost as strange as the last series in Minnesota.
It's gonna be an exciting game, may the best team win and good luck to youz guyz.

Congrats to the CWS,ya'll pitched a great game. And so did Blackburn,mcGrays(sp?)and Nathan of the Twins.Just the one mistake by Blackburn to Thome was the difference in the game.In the off season Twins need to look for a big power hitter like Thome. In tight games like last night they come in handy.

What a great game.  I'm not very optimistic about the series with the Rays.  We gotta steal one down there and hold court at home.  Not an easy task by lookin at there home record  :(.
