QuoteMegalicious, where did you see galactic?  I've seen them all over, but my favorite is Tipitina's in New Orleans. It's like their home base. It's less of a concert and more of a dance party.

Thanks hitchhiker. I like that "Careful with that axe, Jim" under your avatar.  I started to write "one of these days..." but I didn't want to scare anyone!
I'm a fan of Galactic too. I saw them for the first time this past jan. 7th at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh. It was deffinately a party. Can't wait for the new album.....
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I know. I'm just teasing her.

This was the patio of a hotel we stayed at in Phonsavanh, Lao PDR.  Not sure why I thought smoking next to unexploded bombs was a good idea, but there you go:

They dug that stuff up in the surrounding fields.  Sometimes they built cowsheds out of the munitions:

I suppose this hotel's stock goes in the "high-risk" category.  ;D

Very nice stack Mr. T! How many CDs you got in there?
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Mr. T.

There are about 700 cd's in there, ordered alphabetically  ;)

I wish I had 700 more though  :)

Ah, it looks like the fine range of Benno CD storage from Ikea.

I hope they are then sorted chronologically by order of release where you have more than one by an artist.  Mine also lean to one side or the other on alternate shelves, with the same number on each shelf if at all possible...

I am very sad.  OCD doesn't even begin to describe certain aspects of my life  :-/

Of course they are! First sorted alphabetticaly, then by date of release. I also trie to fill every shelve to the fullest, so they won't lean over.

The shelfs that aren't full yet make me unhappy  :(

Your IKEA shelves are so much nicer than mine  :-[
I have 3 of these. One is full of CDs the other 2 CDs & DVDs.
I've sorted mine into artists & genres (top shelf of the sliding door is Elvis & MMJ, 2nd is Bob, third is The Beatles, fourth is The Stones etc)
The shelves behind are sorted into Heavy Metal, Hard Rock, Rock etc etc.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

A_delle

I really like your shelves Dragonboy! The advantage for you is that you don't have to bend your head to read what's on the side of the disc  :)

Ordering by genre/favourites is a good thing. When they're ordered alphabetticaly, it sometimes happens that your favourite artists have to be at to bottom of the shelves. In my case that means that My Morning Jacket is way below, at floor level!  :(

I want them on top!!
