QuoteSo the picture isn't great quality. I didn't even know my picture was going to be took. I was walking in from fixing a bowl of dog stew of my pup and my dad took a pic of me. Enjoy the half-ass'd smile.

Sorry Ritchiem, but did I understand that you made a stew by using your puppy? :-/

OH NO! My worst typo ever! I meant I made some dog stew for my puppy.  :D

Nathan's hang-off-the-bun franks, pickle spears, sweet relish, some dijon mustard, roma tomatoes, chopped vidalia... I'd call that "dragged through the garden," wouldn't you? Had to settle on Kroger brand buns, unfortunately, so no poppy seed buns, but they were definitely soft and tasty, so the job was done by all. About to hit it for round two in a few minutes here...

Nicely done,  I even see celery salt,  and NO KETCHUP.

Did you have some of these for dessert  ;D
Kethcup on hot dogs is just plain wrong and criminal. Thankfully I've brainwashed...I mean trained my kids to fear ketchup on hot dogs.

That's classic.. My father did the same for me.. I was 6 or 7 and he said "Only girls put ketchup on their hotdog" I got grossed out put the ketchup down and haven't turned back.. I have since tried it and i undersand why only girls put ketchup on their hotdogs.. Thanks dad..

That makes no sense. I don't like that many condiments and prefer ketchup on hot dogs. In fact I like ketchup on lots of things.

Only acceptable condiments on dogs:
Mustard (yellow, brown, or Dijon are acceptable. Yellow is best)
Onions
kraut
chili
relish

For me, yellow mustard, onions and maybe a little kraut or relish. Yeah I'm a snob when it comes to my hot dog consumption.

QuoteThey need some sport peppers and some o' that neon green relish, but other than that...nicely done, grasshopper.   ;)

Daaaaaaaamn, I knew I was going to get called out! After reading a couple accounts of how to effectively drag it through the garden and hearing things like "either for eating or throwing at cars, you decide," I went ahead and decided that they were probably optional. We also couldn't find any appropriately neon green relish here. I'll be ordering a couple items from www.viennabeef.com in the very near future...

Nah, you've done very well.  Next time you're in town, we'll have to do the Chicago dog tour   ;)

Personally, I think the sport peppers are a must, but I eschew the neon relish...a friend of mine worked one summer at a relish plant, and his hands and arms remained a sickly green tint up to the elbows until October.

That can't be healthy. Man.

I'd be totally okay with the hot dog tour. Mind if I bring a couple extra ravenous dudes with me?

MJK, add celery salt and tomatoes to the mix and we'll talk.

Arguable. Yellow mustard vs. Heinz Tomato Ketchup? Definitely ketchup. Give me a good honey dijon or, better yet, Boar's Head stone ground? Not even a comparison. I will admit though, if we're talking big 1/2 fair hot dogs, I'm going with ketchup over squeeze relish and mustard. Especially if it's hot out. Lends to the juiciness factor, in my opinion.

Nuthin wrong with ketchup on a dog as far as Im concerned. I used to only eat ketchup on dogs and fries and baked potatoes but then I realized I was a teenager and progressed to mustard. "brown" mustard is where its at

Still though, I think yellow mustard is gross. Im all about the sweet and spicy or spicy and sweet mustard that looks like chunks might still be present in it, but if im only considering thte yellow stuff, Ill pick Heinz.

"Only girls put ketchup on their hotdog"  ;D That's great...and so true, so true.  ;D

My baseline dog is GOOD mustard, diced white opion, and hot peppers. If the kraut is good, I'll put that on there too. I do like chili-cheese dogs, but I prefer my baseline dog and chili-chese fries.
