well he canceled some of his tour to go to rehab...he was pretty bad off..
dad to son should be 'do as i say, not as i do'..he needed/needs help
if this was recent, looks like it didn't take..

He told us that he's off drinking and even when he was offered drinks by other people he politely refused. I think he was about to blink, hence the dazed look.

Great pics man!!  Super cool you got to meet the Spear!!!  That's awesome you keep in touch with Sonya too!!  :o  I was unaware of his son though, Jah Bless.  So fortunate you got to share the show with him when you did!  I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for some shows in the U.S. this year!  The only time I ever saw him was in Carrboro, NC, not too far from Asheville here!!

Now I've got Little Sadie in my head  :P  That's a cute pup!!  Maybe they'll randomly play it when I catch Further in ATL a week from todayyyy!  :D

That was a crazy fun night. It's a long story, but through a bunch of random events I came in contact with Sonja and she initiated the whole thing. Got me the pass and arranged some face time with Spear. I haven't met a lot, but I have met a few of my musical heroes and nobody was like Spear. I'm not a crystal-rubbing, hippie-dippy type, but it literally seemed like the dude emanated happiness. It was really weird and amazingly cool.
Only thing that came close to my GD addiction was Spear. Guy is truly a living legend and I guarantee his touring days are numbered. He wanted to stop touring a few years ago and then got in a big battle with his record label and has since gone independent. Because he got screwed out of a shitload of money and product and is now independent, he has been a bit more aggressive about recording and touring again. Luckily he lives in Queens now which means any shows that do happen will most likely be in the States. I know he has new material since "Jah Is Real", so hopefully another album soon and then a small tour to promote it. Will def let ya know if I hear anything.

As some of you know, I took the NY Bar last month, and I have a superstition, that whenever I am preparing for something big, I don't shave or cut my hair (I know, weird superstition)  So I figured I'd post a pic of what I actually looked like once it was all over

yes, dude that would be so much fun meeting up.  things are good.  saw a lot of family I haven't seen in years, they're pretty awesome so that was nice.   parking lot jam is inevitable, booze via IV drip and herb-o-plenty, joint upon joint.   naked women, omnichords and microkorgs, good buddies who know whats up.  not a lot out there more fun than that.  You should bring your Omnichord into the venue and see if you can get Jim to let you jam with him.   I'll bring "Let The Yac Attack!" signs, it will happen.   

I got that DVD today, thanks so much it was a awesome surprise.  getting mail is sweet, especially when it's an MMJ concert. thank again blip snapper.
