I saw Borat last night on DVD. Very funny with some vicious satire.

A Nic Roeg film - Walkabout

I'd never see it before - a good film, really enjoyed it.

Also saw Deep Water (documentary based on true story also excellent)

I've yet to see that & their remake of Ladykillers. I've read great things about Blood Simple, not so great things about Ladykillers...

i thought ladykillers was pretty funny. i didn't like tom hanks' southern accent, though.

or his face.

Jaimoe

The original Ladykillers is fantastic. Screw the remake.

dragonboy

Quoteor his face.
I'm not wearing my glasses right now but what's that? You hate Face?!!
Shit Meg, I'd delete that  pretty quick if i were you!
We all miss Face very much & I'm sure a lot of people will agree that it's too soon for a joke like that?!!
Let's just hope that Face isn't lurking right now under a pseudonym like 'space' or 'place' or 'lace' or 'grace' or 'chase' or 'mace' or 'third base' or anything else like that!

Ladykillers is decent. Blood Simple is amazing, make that the next movie you see.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Watched a GREAT film from 1952 last night--"The Wages of Fear" it won the Grand Prize at Cannes that year.  Twisted ending todays suspense and horror movies make use of so much.  A very tense thrill ride!

P.S.  I happen to love most of Cage's work--starting with Valley Girl and on through Adaptation, Wild at Heart (OF COURSE!), Face Off (great action!), etc.  I am disappointed to hear about Ghost Rider though, it was one of my favorite comic books growing up :-/

Just saw House of 1000 Corpses for the 3rd time. I love this movie. Has anyone of you seen The Devil´s Reject?

I've seen them both. Devil's Rejects is good but 1000 Corpses is a lot more fun IMO.

The Prestige - yet another excellent Christopher Nolan movie. I can't wait for The Dark Knight (although I'm not too sure about Heath Ledger playing the Joker)

I watched Before Sunrise this afternoon and am going to watch Before Sunset this afternoon.  Two of my favourite films, I really hope we get to see these characters together again, it could be like the amazing Up Series, but fictional.

I think I'm going to model myself after Ethan Hawke's character in these two films..

Stranger than Fiction

I liked it.  Not your typical Will Ferrell movie, not your typical movie at all really, which is always refreshing.

Also found Catch 22 on DVD at the library over the weekend so I finally sat down and watched that.  I was very surprised that the "Hungry Joe" scene made it into the movie--pretty graphic.  Overall they did a great job adapting the book.
