Shane Meadows was on the Culture Show last night, and the interview and clips from the film really took me back to the early 80s.  This Is England will be a must-see over the summer.
Have you seen any of his other movies Mark?
24/7 & Once Upon A Time In The Midlands weren't anything special but A Room For Romeo Brass & Dead Man are both excellent.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

I kinda liked 24/7. especially the soundtrack.

Drunkre

Saw Dig for the first time last night.  I gotta get some of Brian Jonestown Massacre's stuff.  Oh, and saw Stroszek (Herzog).  Seemed more accessible than a lot of his other 70s films.
it's a voice. and it's a choice
to call you out. or stay at home

Saw Grindhouse tonight. It was good I guess but not great. Both had some good action involved. Planet Terror would be a movie I normally wouldn't see, but a lot of my friends like that stuff. Rose Mcgowan was pretty badass in it. Death Proof was kind of boring at first, with all the dialouge. The last half hour of it made it worthwile.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Friends With Money - very enjoyable little film with an excellent female cast (Catherine Keener, Joan Cusack, Frances McDormand and Jennifer Aniston (in a maids uniform!))
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

QuoteAnyone seen 'Old Joy' starring Will Oldham. It's playing tonight at the University of Louisville and I'm going. The sound track is provided by Yo La Tengo. Sounds good to me.

didn't blow me away but it's definitely worth seeing.
kinda awkward at times.

Awkward as in Will Oldham giving that other guy a massage while naked. But I enjoyed the movie and that area of the country is beautiful. Made me want to go camping.

Saw Nacho Libre yesterday and thought it was awesome. Those fight scenes were hilarious.

I'm one of the minority. Nacho Libre and Napoleon Dynamite are so misunderstood.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Last King of Scotland.  Brilliant.  Forest Whitaker is utterly convincing as Idi Amin.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

I want to see this one.

Pans Labyrinth - good but not great. Guillermo del Toro is clearly a director with great artistic vision but some of the story/script just didn't work for me.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Jaimoe

Jesus Camp - interesting and disturbing.

The first (remake) Ocean's 11 is an absolute blast, this looks great.  I challenge anyone to not like George Clooney.

Have you seen Out Of Sight? Forgot the fact that J-Lo is in it, this is George at his very best!

I have, although I can't remember much about it.  Man do I ever love George.  What a classy gent.

Yes, Forest Whitaker!!! His role was scary brilliant. 'But Why Didn't You Convince Me'  :o

Last Tango In Paris, disturbing. Need to watch some fun stuff now, damn. Entourage is back.

I just finished watching the one that aired on Sunday.  Man, I really like that show.
