If you like Shaun Of The Dead & Hot Fuzz I recommend that you check out the UK Office (similar humor) & Spaced (Edgar Wright & Simon Pegg's TV show before SOTD)
Both are classics!  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out

Saw this last night on dvd. Documentary made by Stewart Copeland and his Super 8 mm camera during their heyday (78-83) that has just been released. Footage ends after Ghost in the Machine tour.

Lots of live footage all over the States, Japan, Europe and Australia.

They were a massive band back in the day

finally saw barton fink last night.

did anyone else think the w.p. mayhew character was modeled after faulkner?

I'm on a David Lynch bender- rewatching everything he has released. I am so pissed that somehow I missed Inland Empire, though. It was only in the theater here for a little over a week. Did anyone see it? Anyway, last night was Blue Velvet. Such a delight to see it again and this time see so many more details and subtleties. It was cool that the DVD has lots of special features including a whole documentary on the making of it in which I learned a lot more about the innerworkings of Lynch's brilliance. Solid gold!
Everyone has a photographic memory. Some don't have film.

SPIDERMAN 3 - Hugely over the top (in a good way) hugely flawed & HUGELY entertaining! Look out for Bruce Campbell & Makers Mark.
Worth seeing for an EMO Peter Parker strutting his stuff to James Brown if nothing else.

He's hilarious in Spidey3!

Did you see that My Name Is Bruce has finally got a release date (Oct 07)?

Bubba Nosferatu and the Curse of the She-Vampires?!! Paul Giamatti as 'The Colonel'?!!  ;D

I've been following news on My Name Is Bruce quite closely.

We'll see if Giamatti signs to do the prequel. IMDB is untrustworthy at times (see the now defunct Phantasm V starring Bruce and the rest of the Phantasm cast).

I was at a garage sale the other day and came across a box of old VHS tapes. In the box was a   Faces Of Death Video.  Does anyone remember that series ? I remember seeing a couple of those movies back in the 80's, they had some pretty morbid content in them.   The one segment I remember was at a restaurant in south america that served monkey brains.  They had a table with a hole cut in the center of it and  a live monkey with its head stuck out the top.  The diners each had a mallet or a hammer that they beat the monkey to death with and then removed part of its skull and started eating the brains.  I was pretty freaked out about it.  I faintly remember them showing some executions from other counties and shit like that.
Oh well, just wondering if anyone else saw these videos.
I'm not at all interested in seeing them, I  might get nightmares and wet my bed, again.

Watched Babel last night.  Alejandro González Iñárritu has made another, well, Alejandro González Iñárritu movie.  For me, that's a good thing:  if you like his others (Amores Perros, 21 Grams etc), you'll probably like this.

It has the Iñárritu trademark separate but converging storylines.  This time it also has some great scenery, and a passable perfomance from Brad Pitt.

A great sequence with a deaf/mute Japanese girl high on drugs in downtown Tokyo almost made my evening.  Not that I condone that sort of thing  ;)
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Be here to love me; the Townes Van Zandt documentary.

Sad but very inspiring!

Just watched this gem called "Winter Passing"  great music, quirky story--best part roughly halfway Zooey Deschanel's character (Reese) is in a small hometown bar at what is playing in the background but "Old Sept. Blues"?!  Fantassssstic!
Sittin' here with me and mine.  All wrapped up in a bottle of wine.

Rushmore is on TV right now, so glad I decided to skip the bar tonight.

Some little indie flick called Spiderman 3!

HOLY ENTERTAINING!!!  Perfect blockbuster, but oh so lame at parts (which was still cool).  Venom was so bad-ass, freaked the girl I went with right out.  THC killed as Sandman, I actually think I'm gonna pop in Sideways in a few.

As usual, The Chin stole the film though.

Spinal Tap is still so great.  My tie for favourite comedy.
