Fast Food Nation - decent and well acted, not sure I'll indulge in a hamburger anytime soon...

Worth watching if you get the chance. Greg Kinnear is good in it (Bruce Willis in a bit part not so good - but don't let that put you off).

Better Than Fiction - It was really good, strange, good and strange!

Seriously? This Ice Pirates? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087451/
I remember watching that when I was a kid. It was pretty shit then, it must be complete & utter shit now  ;)

Click - I really like Adam Sandler but this was really bad. Not very funny & turns into a terrible melo-drama about halfway through.
Best thing about this movie was The Hoff  8-)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

SO terrible. Like, dreadful. Not even "hahaha, this is awful". It was bad without being funny.  A complete waste of time.  I'm still glad I experienced it...:)

I really liked the Space Herpes though.

In the past day and a half I've watched:

Rushmore
This Is Spinal Tap
Say Anything
Chasing Amy
The Big Lebowski
Say Anything

I'm now home and watching one of my absolute favourites Ghost World.  Daniel Clowes is nothing short of a genius; I absolute love his work.  "Ice Haven" is a masterpiece of a graphic novel.  I think I'm gonna dig out some of his books, I haven't read him for a while.

Little Miss Sunshine.  Funny and poignant, with some great acting.  The grandfather had me laughing out loud.

Nil By Mouth - I've seen this movie a couple of times. It's difficult viewing but the performances are excellent:

Got Old Joy in the post yesterday, can't wait to watch this one!

Amazing Grace at the cinema last night after a long and liquid lunch.  I fell asleep about twenty minutes in and woke up about half an hour later.  When I went to sleep, Wilberforce was a young MP opposing slavery.  When I woke up, he was still doing the same thing, but with a few more wrinkles.  And Albert Finney had written a song.

Not really my cup of tea  :-/

Hawkeye

The Invisible - Horrible shite!  I mean, I know that Ghost meets the O.C. sounds like a great idea for a movie, but the execution just wasn't there
We could.

Did you mean Stranger Than Fiction? Well anyway, I just watched it. It far exceeded my expectations. I thought the narrative voice over thing might be gimmicky but it works well and isn't a constant throughout. The graphic designers did an awesome job showing Harold's (Will Ferrell) OCD and how it's used in his world. Will is really great in it and I'm glad he's branching out in different roles now. The casting is very good. Maggie Gyllenhaal is great, in fact i think she's my new current crush.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Saw 'Mutual Appreciation' in the week - anyone seen it?

Yah, I meant stranger than fiction.  Whoops.  I loved it.  The cast  was great.  The sound track was great.  A must see in my book.

I'm half way through this one. It's a rare thing that I don't watch a movie the whole way through in one sitting...

Babel - excellent! I could have done without Brad Shit (I find him very difficult to tolerate after the whole Angelina Jolie thing) but fortunately he didn't spoil my enjoyment of the film. I particularly enjoyed the Japanese story + Gustavo Santaolalla's soundtrack. Fans of his soundtrack work (21 Grams, Motorcycle Diaries, Brokeback etc) really should check out his album Ronroco:

A couple of tracks from The Motorcycle Diaries on his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/gustavosantaolalla

buh dumm chhhhhhhhhhh.

i hate critiquing movies, mostly because i'm terrible at giving accurate descriptions or articulating analytics.
but i was very satisfied...

tell me what you think!

also just saw running with scissors a few days ago.  wasn't impressed in the least.  i hear the book is great, and that movie was an absolute bore... meh.

there're so many other movies i want to watch --
adaptation, for one. i've seen it before, but never under the right circumstance. i want to rent it soon, and just watch it by myself... i think i'd like it more that way.
everything is illuminated, which is a great book... and i only hear good things...
jesus camp... this actually makes me uncomfortable. i was gonna rent it tonight, but i'd have been forced to watch it alone, and i don't know how that would've worked out...
meh, i'll stop there.

It's great to have you back Jenny  :D

Thumbsucker is really great.  If only to hear Elliott Smith's take on Big Stars "Thirteen".  So good, man I need New Moon to arrive already.
