QuoteThe Festival Express dvd. It's a shame a bunch of ignorrant protesters ruined the festival to some degree. Yeah musicians should play for free and not make any money, idiots.

Yes, but that scene and event was the only drama in the film and thus made it far more important as rock & roll document. Plus, it was great seeing Bob Weir actually getting pissed off at something and his rants were thoughtful, honest and surprisingly coherent.

To think that the footage lay in the director's basement for thirty years. At one point, the film tins were used as goal posts when his son played road hockey.

I went to the premiere of Festival Express at the Toronto International Film Festival three or four years ago. It was a great night. Syliva Tyson, members of Janice Joplin's band, famed Canadian director David Cronenberg (Eastern Promises, A History of Violence, The Fly, Scanners) and Festival Express director Bob Smeaton were all in attendance and Bob answered questions after the screening. When the film was being played, some people in the audience got up and danced. People cheered after the performances too, so this screening kinda felt like being there.

The footage is priceless. Seeing Danko, Janis, and Jerry together is special.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

I've been meaning to check that out for ages, I'll have to get on that.  Is there much with the Flying Burrito Brothers?

Just finished watching this:

Beautiful short from Wes Anderson that serves as 'Part 1' to The Darjeeling Limited (which I'm absolutely dying to see).  Anderson is on nearly any given day my 'current' favourite director; it's a neck and neck race with Alexander Payne, and this only solidifies his standing with me.  Jason Schwartzman was great, as per usual, and Natalie Portman was perfect.

Great music featured as always from Wes, I'm already on the hunt for this song which was used in the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqLH2Sjatn0

I think I'm actually going to pop in one of my top 5 movies now - Bottle Rocket.   :)

Just saw 'Black Sheep' - a comedy/horror made in New Zealand about genetically modified sheep going on the rampage. Very silly but we laughed out loud.

You gotta see this beautiful film. The music alone made me cry and not because it was sad.

I really want to see that Jaimoe, even more now after your blessing.

Some Like It Hot - Awesome.  Hilarious.  My first Monroe (and Billy Wilder - been dying to see The Apartment for what seems like ages) movie.   :-*

Life Is Beautiful - Roberto Begnini was wonderul.  Loved it.  Tugged ye olde heart strings.

Into The Wild

unbelievably well made. i read the book a  few years ago and found it again last month, read it again and then a movie came out.

i was so close to crying, but i was watching in a theatre, with my dad too. im sure he felt the same way.

Eds voice and music helped the movie alot, i recommend this to ANYONE. Mothers and fathers beware, hearts may break
