Watership Down - I absolutely adore this film!
As much as I love Pixar/3D animation I wish there was still a market for beautiful 2D animation like this.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078480/
My wife just read the book so I showed her the movie. Now she wants to visit the real Watership Down in Hampshire, UK. Turns out it's very close to were my sister lives, unfortunately she's moving up north soon.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

just saw no country for old men again and it was SO much better the second time!  I still don't fully get it, but it may be one of their best after all.  I'm definitely going to see it again.  I love movies like that which is why i love the coens.

I've only seen it once.  I was blown away by the camera shots and overall atmosphere.  Javier Bardem's character was one of the most memorable of all time.  I think this movie had a strange pace to it.  It seemed to move really slowly and carefully, yet keep your heart and mind racing.  It's defiantly something I want to see again.  It's like the payoff at the end couldn't possibly live up to how much I enjoyed just watching the movie as it happened.
There's Still Time.........

Lord of War.  First Cage film for a while in which he out-acted his hair.

Feel asleep 40 minutes in to American Gangster.  Tooo tired.  I'm looking forward to watching the rest though.
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Shortbus. Lots of cock and tits, kind of erotic, but mostly I think a big poufy tease.  I did like the soundtrack and I discovered at the closing credits that Yo La Tengo did the original score which was interesting and 'collective' folks where well represented t my suprise/delight.  All In All Not a bad flick, a decent rental.  What I got out of it: things aren't always what they seem.

I also finally watched Into The Wild.  Of course, I knew how it would end, but still, what a downer. Good story though and still: thumbs up! Despite Chris/Alexander's freaky too-much-moussed-hair, I found I wanted to learn more about the side stories of people befriended.
My jacket's gonna be cut slim and checked

Watched The Lost Boys for the first time in years last night. Along with Star Wars, Jaws, Flash Gordon, Raiders, Goonies & Back To The Future etc this was one of the movies that I remember clearly from my childhood. It wasn't a complete shocker but it hasn't aged that well. Jack Bauer was good & Corey Haim was quite funny but Corey Feldman was pretty bad & Jason Patrick were terrible. Apparently they've made a 'straight to DVD' sequel due later this year?

Movie Quiz time: In what over film did Kiefer & Corey Feldman share the screen?

I found them a lot more interesting than Chris/Alexander's character myself.  Hal Holbrook just broke my heart when he said goodbye to Supertramp.

Before the Devil Knows Your Dead
A fairly good film from Sidney Lumet, it was too convoluted at times for my taste, but overall it was quite enjoyable.  Great performances from Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Albert Finney and Marisa Tomei.

The Savages
Quite possibly the best film I've seen in the past year.  So truthful.  So painful.  Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Laurey Linney were nothing short of incredible.  Highly recommended.  (Lovely to see some Daniel Clowes artwork too!)

Going All the Way - Jeremy Davies & Ben Affleck - Post-Korean War coming-of age about 2 buddies from the army.  Set In Indianapolis!

Its an average movie - but it's cool to see Indy on the big screen

Angry Ewok

Saw Forbidden Kingdom this weekend... I'm a huge Jet Li fan. He busts out the Mantis style, which is sweet. Jackie Chan busted out the Zui Quan, the only style that I'm even remotely effective in... I knew from there on that even if the movie sucked, I'd leave happy.

It was "aight"... Popcorn movie.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

Being There, or Delicatessen tonight? Leaning toward Being There.
