Ha, Yeah they couldn't have come up with any dialouge that would have worked better, Sophia deserved that award.  So subtle yet so hard hitting.  Such a smart movie.
There's Still Time.........

Last night I watched the forgotten classic 1950 film noir Night And The City with Richard Widmark (who's still alive at 92!) and Gene Tierney. It was remade in the 90's with Robert De Niro.

This Thursday I'm watching John Boorman's 1960's revenge thriller Point Blank with Lee Marvin. I can't wait.

No chance of it coming here, I'll have to wait for the DVD  :-/
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

errol morris' Fog of War... interesting, eye-opening, terrifying... RSM doesn't apologize for vietnam here, but he does in his book. i would be so sad to carry that much guilt around. but definitely a brilliant man...
everything sucks. really.

EC

Tristram Shandy.

Not entirely sure how I felt about it.  Some truly hysterical moments.  Also a lot of weirdness.

I also might not have been in the right mood.

I've been looking forward to Dave's Block Party for quite awhile...  can't wait to see it!

I just saw, and loved:
Flaming Lips: Fearless Freaks - I'm not a diehard Lips fan, even though I love Yoshimi + Soft Bulletin (who doesn't!?)  but the movie is wonderful, even for non-fans.

Me, You, & Everyone We Know - I didn't know anything about this one, but several folks recommended it.  Really beautiful.

Went and saw 16 blocks with Bruce Willis and Mos Def......good.

Saw 'North Country'. Depressing, Inspiring, Emotional, and Informative. I give it 2 1/2 stars.

Easy Morning Rebel

Brokeback Mountain.
It's exactly a movie of my taste.
I fucking LOVE it!!! ;D

Horrible.

You're the first person I've heard who didn't like it. Any particular reason? I haven't seen it yet.

I just watched Crash.  I have mentioned before that I live in a bit of a bubble, but  I didn't know anything about it except a few random things that people said.

It did a lot of things to me.  It made me frustrated and it made me angry, but mostly it made me feel pretty sad.  And I just wonder about movies like that because there's not a lot of hope in there.

"snatch" again.

one of my favorite movies!

yes EC, it did the same to me. powerful movie. i know alot of people who didnt like it also, because of the blatant racism, but i think thats cause it maybe made them look at their own prejudices. people like to think they dont have any, but just about everyone does, no matter how subtle they are.

I was talking to my roommate about it this morning and she said that she thinks there is hope in the movie.  She said that the "crash" and the two characters meeting in different circumstances might help them open their eyes.  But I don't find that hopeful.  I find it frustrating that you need a situation like that to open your eyes in the first place.
