def my favorite foreign film...1 of my favorite movies ever

Now that I think about it, its kind of like The Wire, but about Rio De Janeiro instead of Baltimore, in a loose way.

Gotta check out The Wire dude...best decision you will have made in 2009

Rent/Netflix the 1st season, and I almost guarantee you end up watching all 12 or so episodes within 5 days tops.

Just do it...you wont regret it

i agree--that is one of my favorites, too--i'll never forget when i first came to NYC i saw it in one of those trendy little village theaters--and the screen was like a 52 inch tv back in this room (lol) it was awesome in any case. i am so pumped to see slumdog millionaire at a real theater.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

What in THE blue hell what that? I was laughing actually in it. Was that their intention?

dragonboy

Yeah I think it's supposed to be a horror/comedy. Looks great!

Bad news for Shane Meadows fan's, King of The Gypsies due to start pre-production this year has been put on hold:

Toby Kebbell has joined the project, which is great new though...

QuoteRole Models was awesome, my favorite comedy of the year. Has a little lull with a half hour or so left, but for the most part is hilarious the whole way through.

I also thought Tropic Thunder was terrible. RDJr was decent, but his character wasnt funny at all. I wish Jack Black got a little more screentime as he was probably the funniest most often, outside of Tom Cruise.

I still have to see Zack and Miri and also Pineapple Express, but..

My Best comedies of 2008 though were:
1) Role Models
2) Step Brothers
3) Forgetting Sarah Marshall

I doubt either cracks the top 3 but Im guessing both will be better than Tropic Thunder

I definitely would put Pineapple Express and Forgetting Sarah Marshall ahead of Step Brothers.  Something tells me Role Models will make it up to the top of my 2008 list also.

I hear ya Bearass.  I go frolfing with some friends and I say one bad thing about Tropic Thunder and they throw a disc at me.  I now feel more comfortable saying that I thought that movie sucked.

"Ya never go full retard!"

Watched Pineapple Express last night, was pretty good. I would say both it and Forgetting Sarah Marshall are better movies than Step Brothers, but I thought SB was a better comedy, i.e. it made me laugh more. Therefore, Step Brothers will still remain #2 on my list

Frolfing?? Do people still call it that actually?  ;D Ive always call it disc golf, been a long time since I heard someone call it frolfing...Love to play though

In Bruges - I was very impressed. One of the top movies of the year (did it come out last year or this year?).

Brendan Gleeson is indeed the man!  The General is one of my favorite movies of all time.  He's so brilliant in that flick.

There's no way Jackie Chan can do that part. Too much acting, not enough stunts. Has anyone here seen his attempt at an actual character in Who Am I? Hillarious.
