QuoteAnyone else read that Jackie Chan will be playing the Mr. Miyagi part in the new Karate Kid movie? WTF?!!

Pat Morita must be turning in his grave!

+ anyone seen Gran Torino yet? I want to see that real bad, doesn't come out here for another couple of months...

I thought Pat Morita was still alive??

Havent seen Gran Torino yet, but I heard its pretty sub-par from many people. Eastwood is about the only good thing in it apparently. Terrible acting from the rest of the cast (who apparently are actual gangstas and never acted before) and a story that isnt all that interesting/boring.

Sparkle

Saw Role Models last night - hilarious! Probably one of my favourites along with Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Paul Rudd is brilliant. :)

Angry Ewok

Valkyrie wasn't bad, believe it or not. I was expecting something tasteless, but it was actually very nicely done in terms of sticking to historical accuracy.

I can't wait to see Torino.

Watched Godfather III today

Only saw it once before, thought it was okay. I mean, maybe if it was only made a few years after II it wouldve had a chance, but waiting 16 years was a big mistake.

Im pretty sure ill never watch that one again after this time, thought Pacino was pretty good in it though. Better than I remembered

Swan dive? More like a belly flop.

Also, by "this year" i meant '08, forgot it was '09.

I've never seen it (Prt III) but I bought the box-set late last year so I'm going to give it a go. Might watch Prt II tonight...

You gotta own all 3 of those and Beggar's Banquet

IMO, those 4 releases are the best back-2-back-2-back-2-back album stretch ever released by a band

Just watched Reservation Road (not Revolutionary Road, that new Dicaprio movie)

First off, I dont even think this movie was released in theaters when it came out in 07/08. I only knew about it from seeing a preview on a rented DVD. This is even more surprising seeing that the main actors are Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo, with Jennifer Connelly and Mira Sorvino in supporting roles.

Good movie that is elevated above that by superb acting by Phoenix, Ruffalo, and Connelly. Probably Ruffalo's best from everything Ive seen him in, and Phoenix is usually good, but I dont think he's ever had a role as a character as mature as this one.

The basic plot is on the way back from a BoSox game, Ruffalo has a hit and run with his son in the car. He ends up killing Phoenix's son in this accident, and it goes from their.

Def worth watching. 3.2/5

Rotten Tomatoes lists the film as a 2007 limited theatrical release. I want to see it.

I bought this last year when it first came out on DVD. The reviews were mixed but I liked the cast, especially the 2 lead actors so bought it anyway. Good movie!

Have you seen You Can Count on Me? Mark Ruffalo's best IMO:

Just checked RT and was surprised it only had a 36%. It wasnt mindblowing or anything, but the acting was great from the leads and I didnt find the plot very unbelievable/contrived.

Ruckus

Gandhi.  What a great film.  Similar to Cap's experience with Empire of the Sun I guess.  This was the 1st film my father took me to see in a movie theater in my life.  Nothing like taking your 4-5 years old son to see a 3+ hour movie about Gandhi.  ;D  Of course later viewings were much more enjoyable.
