Quoterighteous kill.

quite a twist. thought it was pretty good.

Finally another person that liked this  [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif]

I dont get so many people just saying it was terrible. Was it great? No, but it had a good pace to it, was exciting, and I thought couldve gone a few different ways before it ended.

I also though Pacino and DeNiro had their best performances since Donnie Brasco and Jackie Brown, individually, but they way their characters played off each other was great.

Man, that looks great.  And I loathe Anna Faris.

Amores Perros - Excellent. Better than 21 Grams, which I also enjoyed. Should I watch Babel too?
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

Babel was a good movie. Really great acting and impressive direction (the film is in Spanish, Arabic, Japanese and English, which couldn't have been easy). I didn't love it and I don't really have any desire to see it again, but it's not a movie that's concerned with being entertaining. So I didn't like it, but it was worth seeing. I've always been interested in seeing Amores Perros on some level, but I can't stand watching dogs get hurt. So, I've been kind of afraid of it.

I just watched Secret Window. Mediocre. Johnny Deep did a quality job and I always like to see John Turturro, but the movie just wasn't much of anything. I am sick of that twist too. Seen it so many times. Easiest trick in the book for a writer.

Slumdog Millionaire - predictable, but still a very good movie.

I pretty much agree with xmas on Babel. It was good, but I wasnt blown away and since I saw it around Oscar time the year it was up for best picture, I was underwhelmed and thought it was overrated.

I dont remember much of 21 Grams, but I think Babel was better than it. Ive been wanting to see Amores Perros for awhile now, and its finally on my DVR, so I guess Ill check it out soon.

I liked all three movies, not sure what order I'd place them in. I know the dogs didn't get hurt but it was difficult to watch.

Inside I'm Dancing (Rory O'Shea Was Here in the US) - excellent movie! Very funny and very moving. I really like James McAvoy (Shameless, State Of Play, Last King Of Scotland, Atonement  [smiley=thumbup.gif] Wanted  [smiley=thumbdown.gif] )

Playing a person with difficulties can never be easy & could potentially be a big career mistake but both he & the other lead actor did an excellent job.

What Love Is

Nothing on TV, so I decided to take a flyer on this movie written/directed by Mars Callahan (Poolhall Junkies), and it turned out to be damn entertaining. The whole movie basically takes place in 1 setting, so it has that feel of a play adapted into a movie, but it isnt. The dialogue is quick, witty, and entertaining the whole time, and you know it has to be when the scene stays within 1 room almost the whole time. The cast is perfect - Cuba Gooding Jr, Matthew Lillard, Gina Gershon, Sean Astin, Anne Heche, and Callahan himself filling out most of the main roles.

I wouldnt call it a romantic comedy, but I guess its kind of in the Forgetting Sarah Marshall mold of romantic comedies. Worth checking out.

Fido

1950's + picket fences + zombies = awesomeness

This was definitely one of the most enjoyable movies Ive seen in awhile, not to mention 1 of the most original script ideas. After a zombie war, suburbia in the 50's is safe from zombies, and thanks to ZomCom, they can have domesticated zombies as there servants. Focuses on a family getting a domesticated zombie and its growing relationship with the son of the family, and yummy mummy Carrie Anne Moss. The satire and how it poked fun at society and cultural values of then and now was just priceless. I laughed a lot for a movie that wasnt exactly and in your face comedy. Billy Connolly (Boondock Saints, Last Samurai) was great as the main zombie, and Tim Blake Nelson was perfect as the next door neighbor whose a zombief**ker.

A must see

I did like 21 Grams a lot, Babel was quite good too but I think 21 Grams is better. Amores Perros is still lying on my DVD Player, as I wanted to watch it about 10 times but always found something elsel.

@topic: Went to see Revolutionary Road, was really impressed by Kate Winslets acting. She does a amazing job, actually the whole movie is excellent. I do think that it is some kind of brutal (not in a physical way) and that surprised me as I wasn't really expecting that.

Then I saw Benjamin Button a while ago, and I liked that one too. I've always enjoyed Cate Blanchett's performances and this one is quite good too. Even Brad Pitt does a really good job, and the story itself is unconventional too.

Right now I'm looking forward to watch "The Reader" (woah the book sucked), "The Wrestler" and "Milk".
They come to europe so much later, it's a pitty.

Somers Town - latest film by my beloved Shane Meadows! Funny & heartwarming, it's definitely slight compared to his last couple of efforts but that's no bad thing. Short (70mins) but the length was actually perfect for the story.
Excellent soundtrack by Gavin Clarke (Sunhouse/Clayhill) http://www.myspace.com/gavinclarke

I like Adam Sandler. Happy Gilmore is a classic & the uncut Billy Madison is great too. I like The Wedding Singer & 50 First Dates, Reign Over Me was good & Punch Drunk Love is excellent.
Granted, he's made a lot of crap & Zohan probably falls into that category for most people but it made me laugh. I'm looking forward to his next movie with Judd Apatow...

Oh, I love Sandler too. HG and BM are classic, and I think WS, Big Daddy, and Airheads arent far behind. I also liked Bulletproof, Anger Management, and I Pronounce You Chuck & Larry enough to see them more than once each. I like Waterboy, although I think its his most overrated comedy. I even thought Mr Deeds and Little Nicky were okay.

That said, I think for a decade now(since Big Daddy), his drama movies - Punch Drunk Love, Spanglish, Reign Over Me - have been very solid and better than his comedies. For someone who had so many good comedies in the 90's, thats just not right. I dont know if its a lack of effort or what, but he's lost the touch for the most part with comedies as far as I can tell.

Click was pretty bad I thought (and got worse as it went on), and Zohan just looks so bad I cant see myself watching it anytime soon, and I like retarded comedies - see Dumb & Dumber, Say It Aint So, Mars Attacks, Bio Dome, etc. Maybe I should check it out if you say its funny actually  ;D
