Damn, that looks very cool.  Headdy, Peter Jackson's not directing it, though; his new one's out at the end of this year.

Yeah, I think as the preview continued I was getting excited and saw Jackson's name so I just figured it meant he was directing  ;D

I never got the whole "this famous director presents" thing. Is it supposed to mean they think it's good so I should see it because of that?! Stupid

QuoteI watched The Wrestler over the weekend.  Thoughts:

1. Wresting is crazy.
2. Marisa Tomei still looks really good.
3. The plot was pretty predictable.
4. Mickey Rourke was good in the role.  I don't know if I'd say he was great, but he was good.  I'm glad Sean Penn won the Oscar.

Agreed on all 4 points although I think Marisa Tomei looked a little better when she was carrying a few more pounds.

QuoteThe Proposition was excellent! That, Jesse James & Open Range are my fav Westerns of recent years...

Scratch that, Jesse James is my favorite

Havent seen Open Range. Blew it off as another Costner movie that would suck, although whenever I eventually get around to seeing them, Im embarrassed to say I thought they werent bad (Waterworld, Postman, etc)

Open Range is fantastic.

I havent seen any talk around here, so maybe its just me, but does anyone else think Terminator: Salvation looks absolutely Fucking Awesome?!?!

Its going to make Rise of the Machines look like Batman & Robin

The wild card is director McG. He's a bit of a hack, but I really like his TV series Supernatural. I'm excited about the new movie though.

Never heard of him, and never even figured they wouldn't have gotten a decent director for this one. I figured that was his nickname when I read your post, but apparently not  ;D

I dont know anything about him, but judging by his resume, I'd call him someone who hasnt done jack shit as opposed to a hack.

I guess we'll find out soon enough

If anything, he was a hack director. We'll see if he can remedy this. Don't forget he's the guy who directed those masterful Charlie's Angels movies.

He's known more as a TV producer and like I said, I love Supernatural.

Yeah, We Are Marshall and the 2 Charlie's Angels are the only movies I even see on his resume. Not very enlightening.

I'm excited about Salvation, could have done without that rant from C. Bale though, I've read lots to suggest that he's a bit of a wanker.

Anyone else excited about the resurrection of HAMMER studios?!!

(staring Timothy Spall & Aidan Gillen (The Wire))

& they've also acquired the rights to remake the exceptional Let The Right One In

So that's a + for Wake Wood & a - for remaking Let The Right One In.
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Hard Times - early Walter Hill movie staring Charles Bronson as a streetfighter & James Coburn as his promoter.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine- it was awful, such a disappointment.  It would have been an average movie if it wasn't about X-Men, the fact that they took (and butchered) familiar x-men characters made it worse.  Totally bummed about it.
Oh I'll never say I knew you, but my heart can't wait to meet you on the other side

Bought No Country For Old Men for a second viewing. So much better the second time around.

I've wanted to see this, but I have heard nothing positive about it. I really don't want to shell out hard earned cash to see my favorite Marvel characters ruined in film.

Probably b/c I wasn't there running my mouth like last time.
;D

Seriously, though... it's a good movie. But then again, has there been a Coen Brothers movie that wasn't?

THE LADYKILLERS

Not to re-hash a week or 2 ago, but I dont think Ladykillers was bad, just bad as far as Coen Brothers goes which means its better than at least 50% of movies

I heard about that, I dont think it needs to get remade. It's fine the way it is.

I saw Sin Nombre last week. Excellent film! (Maybe they will want to remake that because it has subtitles.)  :(
