Headhunters - Awesome Swedish thriller about an art thief who gets caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Highly recommend it, especially if your into other Swedish movies.
Relentlessly awesome

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm sure it will be remade for American audiences so everyone catch this first!

Headhunters is actually a Norwegian film. One of its lead actors is the excellent Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, aka evil Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones; he's also good in the recent scary little horror film, Mama.

You beat me to it   I knew it was Norwegian but I had NO IDEA that was Jaime Lannister?  That dude is smokin' hot, so I hear.

He's Danish too. He plays two brothers in Mama.

I watched Donnie Darko last night for the 2nd time. First time was many years ago and I didn't remember much. There's a good and weird movie in you're in the mood...

Love, love, love, Donnie Darko. I recommend only seeing the original theatrical release. The director's cut fills-in too much of the mind-fuck mystery and is generally just not as fascinating.

Who doesn't love Frank or Seth Rogen not actually being seth rogen in a movie.

And Phantom Planet leader Alexander Greenwald is great as Donnie's evil high school foil Seth Devlin.

The entire casting of the Darko family is perfect. I love the underrated character actor Holmes Osborne who that played Donnie's dad. He was also great in the bleak 1997 Paul Schrader/Russell Banks thriller, which also stars "lightweights" Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek, Willem Dafoe and James Coburn. Highly fuckin' recommended.

Eh, close enough! They sounded like Swedes to me.

I take it youre talking about Affliction? Been meaning to see that for awhile now, but I thought it was a drama, not a thriller?

It plays as both. Psychological drama or thriller. Anyway, a good film and Coburn's last.

Donnie Darko is awesome. Stupid man suit!

I watched Savages and I recommend it. Also seen The Ides Of March, slow but interesting. Not the best movie as it ends and doesn't really follow up on anything so I assume that's why it got such good reviews.

Saw it last year and enjoyed it. Didnt love the double ending if you will, but didnt really have a problem with it. I could see people disliking it because of that, but not much else to complain about although the whole Blake Lively doing both her best friends who are both each others best friends as well was a little weird. I also question their "plan" to flee before having to do business with the cartel, but it certainly made the film more entertaining. Acting was solid all around, I thought even Taylor Kitsch was surprisingly good/convincing. Benicio was awesome. Aaron Johnson was really good, Ive been impressed with him the few times Ive seen him (this, Kick Ass, Nowhere Boy).

I definitely would recommend Nowhere Boy for anyone who hasnt seen it. Aaron Johnson plays a teenage John Lennon and its about his relationship with his aunt, uncle, & mother, and him discovering music, learning to play it, forming bands, etc.

Rebel Wilson is a riot in that movie.

Room 237
A very interesting document but can't say I agree with everyone's take on "The Shining", but its still interesting to see how and why they believe all of the symbolisms in the movie mean.  Some I can see, but a lot are stretches for me.

Repo Man
was really interesting if you like gonzoish style comedy.  I can see why it was considered very experimental for its time, plus some 80's punk flair, sci fi, and violence throw in.  Really a great entertaining film that has a little bit of everything going on.

I also didn't care too much for the double ending. The original one they had in place worked out a lot better than the one they chose. Maybe they could've had a blend of the two. I agree on the acting, it was quite well done.

I seen Zookeeper and I figured it would've been a little bit more humorous. There was only about three funny parts in the entire movie.

I watched End of Watch and I didn't understand the high praise it got. It was ok but there's much better cop movies out there.

That Kevin James Zookeeper movie? Havent seen it but it looked awful.

I really liked End of Watch. What much better cop movies have come out in the last 10 years? A few that I liked a lot off the top of my head are We Own The Night, Brooklyn's Finest, and Pride and Glory, but none of them Id call much better than End of Watch, if better at all.

The Master.

While PSH puts on a great proformance as is the norm I really couldn't get into the movie.  At first it seemed quirky and slightly interesting with Phoenix's character and his story, but then it was just monotonous to me and dragged on.  I feel like there was not much of a story and no one I could relate to in the flick, kind of like There will be blood.  Some great acting by PSH and the others were above average but in the end it was barely an above average flick and I wouldn't consider watching it a second time.
